Mariachi Revolución is Jennifer Acosta, vioinist, of El Paso, Texas. Revolución began in 2006 with guitarron player Javier Torres, rhythm player Tony Thompson, and trumpet David Hernandez. The group is still active and its current members also play in other local groups in Austin including Mariachi Garibay and the new Mariachi Estrella. Mariachi Revolución recorded two tracks on the newly released Grupo Fantasma album, "SONIDOS GOLD", the Ocote Soul Sounds album, "The Alchemist Manifesto", and The Alchemist Manifesto remix by DJ Chicken George. Revolución also played Xemumba, "un festival de musica latina!"in fall 2007, and worked with Adrian Quesada of Grupo Fantasma for the film "Inside the Circle", a documentary on B-Boy culture in Texas.
Other projects include performances with Austin's legendary funk masters, Brownout! and Austin hip-hop artist Clemits of MSG Crew. Mariachi Revolución continues to evolve, while changing and honoring their traditional mariachi roots, collaborating and revolutionizing live mariachi-influenced music in Austin, Texas.
