Biography:
Maria Henriques was born in Lisbon 15,May 1951. In the year 1968 she started studying the art of painting in the School of Arts-Antonio Arroios in Lisbon. In the beginning of 1970 she begins studying with the teacher, the painter/professor Rolando De S� Nogueira in the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon. Between the years 68/74 she works in several publicity Agencies and she continues studying painting and photography. She also made several trips to Europe, North America and Canada. In the year 1974/75 she leaves Portugal to live in Vienna-Austria.There she works in series about classical music for the Portuguese television and she starts her painting studies with a Painter/professor Wolfgang Hollegha in the Academy Bildenden Kunste. She also works with the professor of History Adam Shaff doing translations and illustrations. She also worked for the composer Haubenstock Ramati.
Between the years 75/77 she made several trips to Moscow, Budapest, Varsovia and to other cities of the East Europe. In those years she made several exhibitions of her work. In 1977/78 she leaves Vienna and returns to Lisbon-Portugal. In Lisbon she starts studying again with the Master de Sa Nogueira and she illustrates several books of Poetry and Short Stories. She is represented in various collections inside and outside of Portugal.
Love to read.To go to cinema, watch movies , read poetry. Love all the artists and all the work done by them.I dont have favorit styles,maybe i do love some better than the others but just when what they show me is related with my own life/experiences.And I sure love nature.All the energy we can have by spending time watching all the amazing tones and colors. Family friends and all that circle that keep us alive and happy.

And all we can learn with people.The way our life changes trough the experience we get trough the relation with others. and I really dont care much about the kind of the experience , it can be good or bad--it always brings something new and thats great.

Who I'd like to meet:
Well that.I really dont know.I sure love open wise people.People that likes to help the others , with open minds and great warm hearts.Guess i would like to know people such as Mandela that gives such an exemple of ideals and courage to stand up defending those ideals.
But I know we are not all so big so guess I would be quite satisfied by meeting normal warm cool and interesting people, but to be really honest I must admit that I really would love to have met great personalities such as Marlon Brando( my all time fave actor ) Orson Welles ( my all time fave director )and some others that are still alive giving to those who loves them the great pleasure of seeing their work.Actors painters poets and all the amazing visionaries of our time.

Já podem escutar o revisitado tema "BAR DA GNR", tema nº 2 do EP e que precede às "GUITARRAS DE GUERRA".
Este tema já com alguns anitos lavou a cara e foi gravado no inicio de 2009 com novos arranjos, mantendo no entanto todo o carisma que vez dele um dos hinos dos ERVAS DANINHAS.
Durante 20 dias, mais ou menos, vão poder entrar no "BAR DA GNR" e buer uma cervejola e morfar uma entremeada e até mesmo apanhar uma carraspana sem ficarem de cana...
Dêm gás no volume e acordem os vizinhos... pelo menos aqueles que dormem a sesta ao Domingo à tarde.
O "BAR DA GNR" contou com a presença de dois convidados muito especiais, foram eles o Igor e o Arroja dos SHIVERS, que por entre copos de binho e assaltos à sacristia ainda tiveram tempo para uma ida à Sela... ops, desculpem o erro... uma ida à cela.
Um grande abraço para eles e um grande abraço para todos vocês!
