The tide recedes but leaves bright seashells on the sand, the sun goes down but gentle warmth still lingers on the land. The music stops and yet it echoes on in sweet refrains ...for every joy that passes, something beautiful remains.

I am a first-generation Russian-Ukrainian immigrant. I was born and raised in Zaporozhye, Ukraine and came to the United States as an impressionable 19-year-old exchange student in 1994. I earned my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, NY). I now live in Kings Mountain, NC with my husband Gerry, two dogs and two cats. (Incidentally, Gerry's organization is recruiting right now, so if you are looking for a career change, check our his web site.)
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU CONTACT ME! I am here to hang out with other readers, writers, composers, musicians, martial artists and simply fun, intelligent people who enjoy a variety of things.
I DO NOT WANT TO MEET YOU IF:
(1) Your only purpose is to sell me something. I do use MySpace to promote my books, but I also promote other people's work AND that's only a fraction of what I do.
(2) The only reason you are here is to show me your naked bum (whether it's via your profile photo or via web cam). Sorry, not interested!
(3) You are only contacting me because I honestly listed my sexual orientation as a "bi". Yes it is true, but no, that's not all there is to me. If you want to talk about challenges of being bi or gay, I am all yours. But if all you are looking for is someone to swap naked pictures with - forget it!
(4) All you like about my MySpace profile are my photos. While I enjoy seeing my friends' faces out there, because it helps me feel closer to them, the reason they are my friends is that they have brains, hearts and souls. If none of those things interest you, if all that attracts you is my face - please, go away and don't waste my time.
(5) I check your profile and you have 1500 friends. I am sorry, the word "friend" actually means something to me. Among other things it implies interraction on a regular basis. I don't think anyone is capable of maintain quality communication with 1500, and I don't want to be just another item in your collection.
P.S. No, I am not interested in "pimping out" my page, or in getting a free Nintendo, or in making money by taking surveys. And I have already met the sexiest single in the area - in fact, I am married to him!
Thank you Maria, I'm trying to figure how to change my current profile picture with this one? AS you see I've uploaded it successfully but I can't find an option to change the profile? It's right in front of my eyes I 'm sure but honestly, I've looked.. any help would be appreciated!
OK so I am a day late and a dollar short so to speak! But Happy Birthday anyways!!! I hope it was a good day for you! Oh...and I am STILL testing for Ni-Kyu! I'll get into that later. Just a little frustrated but this is supposed to be a HAPPY BIRTHDAY comment TO YOU!!!!!!
Hey!! I have been enjoying reading your fashion blogs. Did you see what Britney wore on stage at the VMA's? Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh--------LOL!
In other news, I am going to see my mom in Greensboro, NC from December 16th to the 23rd. I do not know how far away you live from there or what your plans are, but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind picking me up and spending a day to get to know eachother in person. Let me know what you think-----♥
I have not actually dropped off the face of the earth.
I have been doing well and keeping busy with work. Currently, I am reading Absalom! Absalom by William Faulkner, and it is even providing me a bit of inspiration.
I loved the Birthday picture. I loved how it resembles a Russian birthday cake. My father's side of the family are from Russia and their "cakes" (they are actually pies) are entirely covered with whole pieces of fruit and have a birthday greeting engraved on the crust. ♥
