Based out of Los Angeles, CA, designer Marialia Pacitto has been designing with a strong passion and interest in fashion for as long as she could remember. Starting her own self titled company, MARIALIA, at the young age of sixteen, her strong desire and will to make a name in the industry showed immensely. Without ever even stepping foot inside a classroom for fashion design or sewing, this self-taught designer proves that this is a natural talent.
Growing up in both Italy and Los Angeles, and noting the differences in the fashion world between these two countries, gave this young designer a very different and unique outlook on fashion. MARIALIA has always been about breaking the trend, once stating: "To me, fashion is an art. It is an expression of one's feelings and imagination come to life. In today's world, it is so hard to see the diversity of fashion and develop appreciation for it due to all the trends broad casted on the runway. This is why I believe that real fashion is something that lies within the depths of creativity. It is not something that everyone would want to wear...breaking the fine line in the fashion world between generic and unique."
With the "alternative" fashion scene finally making its way in the industry, MARIALIA is proud to stick behind the creative, art-sy, and sometimes weird aesthetics it has had since day one, and turning itself into one of the first alternative high-fashion labels out there.
Featured in handfuls of online and print publications, seen on some of the underground scene's hottest celebrities and models, and photographed by some of the alternative industry's leading photographers, MARIALIA is making a permanent mark in the fashion world today.
