In 2006, I was informally introduced to “The Secret,” by a Record Industry friend. With excitement in his voice, he began to tell me about a DVD that he saw in a church setting that explained “The Law of Attraction.” He gave me the abbreviated version: Like attracts Like and “thoughts become things.” I was open to listening to what he had to say, because we were close friends and pretty like-minded.

On New Year’s Eve of 2006, I attended a very powerful church service. The Pastor explained how 2007 would be: “The Year of Our Father’s PERFECTION,” an opportunity for us to take back all that was lost or stolen and move closer to our dreams. At the beginning of 2007, I decided to “think positive” and ACT in ways that were consistent with my beliefs…and ever since then, it has been quite a journey.

In less that one year, I got out of debt, tripled my income, saw a significant change in my younger son’s behavior (he was diagnosed with Autism), and overall, everything in my life started to get better!

There’s a unique difference between my story and other’s who can come forth and say they’ve experienced prosperity as a result of using the “Laws.” If you knew where I “started” compared to where I am “now,” it just doesn’t make sense for me to have come this far. I come from a broken home, where I had to move from relative to relative (on average of every 6 months). There was no consistent “adult figure” in my life (though I did have many loving people that taught me A LOT), overall, I had to wing it on my own. Ever since I was a young girl, I had a spiritual yearning, as a young teen, there was never a need to force me to attend church, because I always had a deep desire for “spiritual” growth.

Now that I am an adult, I want MORE. I want a spiritual experience that I can sustain beyond the Sunday sermon. I want to “feel” CLOSE to “GOD” all the time. I want to be compelled to make the right choices, not for others, but for myself. And I have finally gotten there.

I am writing a book that documents my experiences, and will hopefully serve as a guide to Self-Empowerment to all who read each page. I Appreciate life, I Love my life, I have joy and I am Loved UNCONDITIONALLY. And I believe, that everyone is capable of having this feeling….more to come.
