    Cantante y percusionista argentina. Tiene cuatro discos como solista, Churita (2010), Margarita y Azucena (2007), Deslumbre (2005) y Lumbre (2002) donde aborda repertorio de los compositores más representativos de nuestra música popular como Atahualpa Yupanqui, Cuchi Leguizamón y recopilaciones de Leda Valladares. Su nuevo trabajo "Churita" editado también en Japón, contiene por primera vez música original, compuesta, arreglada y dirigida en su totalidad por Mariana Baraj. Participó desde sus comienzos de diversos proyectos dentro del rock, el pop y la música popular de Argentina como Man Ray y Catupecu Machu, entre otros. Su proyecto solista la llevó a participar de los más destacados festivales alrededor del mundo en países como Alemania, Brasil, Chile, Uruguay, España, Eslovenia, México, Estados Unidos, Senegal, Japón y Corea. Ganó el Premio Clarín en 2005, en el rubro Revelación de Folklore y en reiteradas oportunidades obtuvo nominaciones en los Premios Gardel junto a Mercedes Sosa, Melania Pérez y Abel Pintos, entre otros. Participó en 2005 de la presentación de la colección Monte del diseñador argentino Martín Churba en Tokio y en 2009 en Villa Ocampo, Argentina. Protagonizó junto a la coplera de Angastaco (Salta) Julia Vilte la película documental "Esta cajita que toco tiene boca y sabe hablar" dirigida por Lorena García. En Marzo de 2008 es convocada para participar del disco de la artista mexicana Julieta Venegas "MTV UNPLUGGED" producido por Jaques Morelembaum. En 2008 fue seleccionada para el programa Rolex "The mentor and the protege" para trabajar con el artista africano Youssou N Dour. Trabaja con la familia de Mario Paz, artesanos de Santiago del Estero, Argentina, representando sus bombos legüeros y cajas. Participó en diferentes proyectos y compartido escenario con los siguientes folcloristas: Jaime Torres, Ricardo Vilca, Tukuta Gordillo, Tomás Lipan, Teresa Parodi, Liliana Herrero, Marian Farias Gomez, Los Huayra, Orozco Barrientos, Bruno Arias y Abel Pintos. Argentine singer and percussionist, Mariana Baraj has released 4 solo albums: Churita (2010), Margarita y Azucena (2007), Deslumbre (2005), Lumbre (2002) in which she reinterprets the works of some of the most representative artists of Argentine Folkloric Music: Atahualpa Yupanqui, Cuchi Leguizamon and Leda Valladares. Her new album, "Churita" also published in Japan, contains for the first time music composed, arranged and directed entirely by Mariana Baraj. Mariana Baraj has participated in diverse projects since her inception as an artist within the genres of rock, pop, and Argentine folkloric music working alongside artists such as Man Ray y Catupecu Machu. Her solo project has carried her to distinguished festivals around the world in Germany, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Spain, Slovenia, Mexico, the United States, Senegal, Japan, and Korea. She won the Clarin Prize for Best new Artist in 2005 in the genre of Folklore and received repeated nominations for the Gardel award along with Mercedes Sosa, Melania Perez, and Abel Pintos, amongst others. She performed at the presentation of the Monte collection by renowned Argentine designer Martin Churba in Buenos Aires in 2005 and again in Tokyo in 2009. She starred along with the Argentine Coplera singer Julia Vilte in the documentary "Esta cajita que toco tiene boca y sabe hablar" directed by Lorena Garcia. In march of 2008 she was selected to participate in an album by the Mexican artist Julieta Venegas for "MTV UNPLUGGED" produced by Jaques Morelembaun, In 2008, she was selected for the program Rolex "The Mentor and the Protege" to work with the African artist Youssou N Dour. She currently works with the family of Mario Paz representing their drums, tailored especially for her style of play.
