| About Mari And The Krauts |
|
Mari and the Krauts are a working-class punk band from Mannheim, Germany. The band consists of Rude Boy drummer, Hoeflich, skinheads Kay on guitar and Jannusch on bass and American punkette Mari on vocals. The band first started out in 2006 with a different lineup which included SHARP Mannheim's Kenan as the singer and Metulski as the lead guitarist and backup vocalist. They were called Falsche Froinde. They did a 3 song CD and then Kenan left the band. They were left without a singer so they turned to Mari. They'd often heard her, after a few beers, singing along to the music at the bars and decided to give her a try. They did 9 songs and had one concert before Metulski left the band. The band has one record out called Asshole Girls and Rude Boys.The music sounds a bit 1977 punk rock with a little bit of Oi mixed in now and then. They sing about things such as work, neighborhood pride, shit bosses, stupid girls, punk rock life, alcoholic rages, getting old, and old men pissing on your head while you are sleeping, thinking you are the toilet. Some of it is serious, some just fun. Mari has written about 30 songs so far so they have lots of material for future records and won't be going away any time soon, so get used to it!
