Writing in all forms, photography, hiking with my dogs, nature and preserving the environment, travelling, drawing, music, movies and books...just to name a few.
Music
Everything from Country (as long as it's not twangy) to R/B, Rock, Classical, some Rap, etc. Melody and lyrics are important. What I listen to depends on what kind of a mood I'm in and sometimes that could be Keith Urban, Pavarotti, Beyonce, Gladys Knight or Daddy Yankee.
Movies
Godfather I and II, Lord of the Rings, Schindler's List, 12 Angry Men, Silence of the Lambs, It's a Wonderful Life, Reservoir Dogs, The Shining...basically movies that keep my brain engaged and that have an intriguing and reflective plot. But that's not to say I don't get a kick out of the Harry Potter movies or freaky scary movies like The Saw series.
Television
Not big on tv. I'd rather watch a movie or read a good book.
Books
A Prayer for Owen Meaney, Tuesdays with Morrie, Animal Farm, Watership Down, To Kill a Mockingbird, anything by Terry Pratchet. I also like Stephen King and Dean Koontz. My tastes in books are similar to those in movies.

About me: Who I am today most likely won't be who I am a month from now because I'll hopefully have had the pleasure of experiencing more of this thing called life. I get along well with most people but despise dishonesty, materialism, violence and animal cruelty. I'm pretty laid back in most circumstances but do have an Italian/Portuguese temper. I love my pets, they are my children. Animal welfare and environmental protection are matters that are close to my heart. I've worked hard to get to where I am in life and can honestly say I'm happy with who I've become physically, emotionally and spiritually. That's not to say that I don't have my own insecurities or that I'm complacent with my life but I try not to take things too seriously because that's no fun. I believe in continually learning whether it's in regards to the people around me, making new friends or doing something I've never done before. If I have a question, I ask it. If I say something stupid, I laugh at myself. If I'm curious about something, I'll pursue it. If I love you, you'll know it. If I don't like you, you'll know that too. I've been learning to live in the moment, plan for the future and reflect on the past because it's my teacher. I enjoy experiencing different cultures, meeting new people and try to travel at least once a year to do so.
I am in love with the written word and the pictures they paint. Writing isn’t something I choose to do but something I can’t ignore. Characters take shape and wreak havoc in my imagination until I’m forced to allow them more solid form on paper. Never an easy task, I’ve created and killed many stories due to the lack of life they render once given the opportunity to truly exist. But I continue to write, revise and write again because writing is like breathing; a necessity.

Who I'd like to meet: I'm happy to welcome people from all walks of life that have something in common or share similar interests. However, I am not a friends collector and will most likely not accept random friend requests or "subscribe to my blog" invitations from people I don't know or don't recognize if the request isn't accompanied by an introductory e-mail.
Hi Maria, How are you? I have missed keeping up with you and appreciate you adding me back as a friend. I have been away from myspace for quite a while and I am just getting back into it. Something happened to my other account. Are you still into photography? Take care and please keep in touch. Kim
There's a pulse in the water today. I could get killed by jagged rocks upside-down-underwater-in-the-dark-without-air. So I'm not so concerned about the flu today. Crossing the boarder will be OK we're crossing early Sunday morning....the best time to cross. It's interesting weather today in North Baja: foggy for an hour then sunny for an hour, back and forth.
I thought about you on friday. My cardiologist was informing me that they cant my pulse or blood pressure and that my heart was getting weak.. He looked at me and apologized.. ( there are surgeries coming up) He said I just wished you could live the way you wanted to.. I asked him How is that, and he said, surf board on a vw,traveling and no worries. That made me think of Kermit. Enjoy him for the both if us this summer!!
