This Boston-born performer began her musical career not in the US but here in Europe and over the last few years Maria Tecce has steadily gained critical and public recognition for both her performing and writing. Originally a folk & blues singer, Maria is now based in Dublin, Ireland and writes and performs her jazz/cabaret shows at festivals around the world.
Music runs in tandem with acting in this Italian-Polish American's career and Maria works in theatre, film, and television.
Maria is working on material for her new album due to be recorded in 2008 and is always looking for new songs and inspiration. She had her first London gig last May at Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho. (Well, her first in London where she wasn't singing before or after a stripper, after a few gigs last year in The Pigalle Club in Piccadilly Circus.)
Maria presents her own radio program on RTE Radio 1 (Ireland), has become the compere for Hennessey Cognac's 'Artist Nights' in Ireland, and in 2008 performs in Prague, Belfast, Dubrovnik, Boston, New York, just to name a few. Also see www.mariatecce.com for full information and purchasing cds.
