musical theater, science fiction, mysteries, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Doctor Who (Tom Baker & Sylvester McCoy!), British comedies (Mulberry!) Animal issues, Children's issues, Church-state separation.
Music
Okay, I have to admit, I like 70's music-- John Denver, Elton John, Barry Manilow. I adore Neil Diamond-- my first fight with my husband happened because he went to look for a job instead of waiting in line at the box office to buy tickets for a Neil Diamond concert (this was in the days long before Ticketmaster)I enjoy folk music, some bluegrass music if it doesn't get too twangy, oldies, modern pop, show tunes. My favorite classical composers are Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Bach, Beethoven and Mozart. And as I've grown older, I've developed an interest in opera.
Movies
Lord of the Rings, especially Return of the King; the first 3 Star Wars movies, Indiana Jones, Ghost, Lethal Weapon movies, Die Hard movies. Anything with lots of action.
Television
I don't watch much TV but I can't wait till the second season of LOST comes out on DVD. Star Trek, Babylon 5, Dr. Who, British comedies. I don't have cable so I miss a lot of the best stuff, I'm sure.
Books
Too many to list! Old favorites are Lord of the Flies, A Separate Peace, To Kill a Mockingbird, Death Be Not Proud, the Tripods series by John Christopher, the Prydain Chronicles by Alexander Lloyd, Foundation series by Isaac Asimov, Dragonriders series by Anne MCaffery, Darkover novels by Marion Zimmer Bradley, Liaden series by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller, Elizabeth Moon, John Ringo, and how could I forget-- Harry Potter!
Heroes
Isaac Asimov, Abraham Lincoln, James Madison, George Washington, Gene Roddenberry, Louisa May Alcott, Princess Di, Marie Curie, Brbara Jordan, Betty Friedan, Jane Goodall, Steven Jay Gould, My husband and my two daughters.
I'm a writer, trying to get her foot in the door, so to speak. And I'm not ashamed of a little self-promotion. ;)
