I wrote this song for an International Festival at the American School in London. The theme of this year’s festival was "Our Global Greenhouse". I was part of the committee that made thousands of flowers made out of the recyclable plastics and cardboards that the school generated throughout the year. The committee was comprised of women from all over the world.
I started out by asking different women to speak certain words in their own languages into my little cassette player, “Green” being the main word, but also “Our”, “Together”, “Flower”, and “One”. I then used these spoken words to create a rhythmic loop that I wrote and recorded the song to.
