Marie is a graduate of LaGuardia HS of Music and Arts. Marie has sung backup for some of Gospel Greats such as: Tramaine Hawkins, Cissy Houston, Melba Moore etc. 2001, Marie released her debut project “Rise and Live.” Marie has often been called to perform for political figures. Marie toured Far Rockaway with Mark Green (NYC Public Advocate) prior to his running for Mayor of NYC.
Currently working on her 2nd album self-titled “Marie Della Thomas.” It will be completed in the Spring 2009. Marie released the first single from her up and coming project entitled “Can’t Find Nobody like Jesus, and the second single "Special Gift."
Marie participated in the VIP Conference in Charlotte, NC/ New Artist Showcase hosted by Pastor John P. Kee July’08. She performed in the GMWA new artist showcase in Nashville, TN. Following her wonderful performance Marie was asked to perform in the night musical.
April 18, 2008 Marie gave a powerful performance in her lead role (as Mary) in the revival of the musically “Your Arms Too Short To Box With God” held at the Ritz Theater in Jacksonville, Fl, and most recently, February 2009 at the CoMMa Morganton Auditorium in Morganton, NC. Marie received rave reviews and will be a part of the up and coming tour of this wonderful Irving Street Production (ISR).
A formal employee of Disney Publishing Worldwide, Inc. Marie has over 20 years working in Advertising Services. 2005, Marie launched Marie Della Thomas & Associates. Today she is a consultant and financial advisor to publishing houses in New York City.
