About me:

I first started in the business of Music in the Year 1992, when my younger brother Gab and his partner formed a RAP Duo called "AS ONE", and we form "AS ONE PRODUCTION". We were showcasing the talent at various showcases that Major labels use to have like the time Sony Records sponsored and we meet an A&R Rep by name of Michael Strane. We were supported by a Local D.J Bobby G with Soul disco. At the time Davy D was on the Air on KMEL. In 1993, Mike introduced us to Mark Hooker known now as Shakur of AMG Productions and his office was located at the Preservation Parkway in Oakland, CA next to Dwayne Wiggins of Tony, Tone Toni office "Boomtown Records". He was involved with the Marketing and Promotion of their label. We managed "Seagram" Rap A lot Artist. Seagram was an Oakland Rapper who was the first artist to their label that was located in the west coast. Our jobs was to promote and travel with Seagram. We met his brother Tavis Miller who is the Founder of the WEST COAST HIP HOP AWARDS which is an event that pays respect for well-known celebrities. Rap A Lot Records was one of the very few Indie labels at the time, i still remember it clear as day. Mike and I decided to start our very own promotional company 'West Coast Promotions'. We attended our first Urban Network Convention in 1992. We met various artist such as Heavy D, Michelle, Eazy E, 2- Pac/Thuglife to name a few. Mike went on a West Coast Tour sponsored by Rap A Lot Records which featured Seagram & Big Mike and Priority Records artists. Also on tour was Conscious Daughters, and Master P. Mike's nephews was Ice T's Tour Manager "Charlie Boot" Johnny Rivers was Musical Director for the Isley Brothers, Tina Marie & Rick James Tour. We spent countless days on tour with them. We met a TV Executive/Owner of KBI TV channel 30, local bay area channel (Non cable) Named "Warren". He had a Live Nightly video show called "Video Preview" hosted by Kalyn Sloan. We featured local talents and Guest Artists such as "Guce,2 Short, Eight Ball and MJG, and many others. In 1995, We team up with a distribution company TMG in North Hollywood who brought us several projects. We were assigned to be Raven Symone's Tour Managers as well the Conscious Daughters. That same year i met Krayzie Bone and Steve Lobell at the Urban Network Convention, and where was interested in collaborating. We toured with Raven and took her to disney auditions while on tour with Nsync. Her independant Project "Invincible" Album. She went on to sign with Disney show "That's So Raven!" and sold the concept to Disney. What a power move on her part!!! In Year 2000, I met Angel Tenes who was the founder of Unity Corps a Progressive Non Profit Organization and he invited me to be part of Board of Directors. I also met a record executive in Hollywood name Barry Gordon. He is one of my mentors and taught me the bad side the business about the game and art of the deal. He introduced me to Joe Jackson and introduced me to showcasing talents. We met Jerry Jackson a talented Producer from Chicago who had an eye for talents and ear that knows good project. He produced a monthly talent showcase and he asked me if I can assist with Talent coordinating for the showcase. For 2 years "Kat in the Hat" a.k.a "KAT WILLIAMS" Hosted the showcase(Fridays After Next, Norbit & Pimp Chronicles)and where we featured various singers, dancers & rapper at the Rumba Room, & BB Kings Club at Studio City, CA. We had tons of Funs showing artist who went on to be a finalist on American Idols (London K). We also had the opportunity to assist Kenan Thompson with his solo/comedy CD project along with his business partner scooby. In the same Year in 2000, We were introduced to Jonathan Rotem by his younger brother Alon. J.R sold hussled his beatz dirt cheap, when he signed to me as his consultant, I immediately sold 3 tracks for $3K and I made a believer out of him. His love for hip hop landed him an opportunity to be on the Destiny Child Album on a song titled 'Fancy'. He was also playing Piano at a local jazz club called Kat Club. I brought him to his very first music industry conference in Sacramento, CA and introduced him to FM Studio Producers Tommy & Dennie who produced "En Vogue" and "Club Noveau" and Dwayne Wiggins and the rest is history, and he went on to produce Britney Spears, Rihanna "S.O.S", 50 cents "Best Friend", The Game and his first artist on his label "Sean Kingston". In 2001, I was introduced to Abdu Dandridge (Related to Dorothy Dandridge)from New York, talented film writer/producer & director. He presented me with various scripts and the rest is history. Our first major movie project was shot in the year 2007.Abdu Dandridge Written/Produced/Edited/Directed the movie "Pressure" In 2003, We met up with Alex Aquino who at the time opened The Bay Area's first "International D.J Academy" at 2200 Cesar Chavez, together we started our Showcase in the Bay Area called "Hip Hop Skillz" we featured up & coming bay area hip hop artist. Alex produced his ITF DJ Turnable Competition Internationally. We started at 50 capacity club to finally to a 1200 capacity club at Space550. I was sponsored by URB Magazine and ASCAP. We enjoyed that so much, we also started a comedy show called "Whatz so Funny!" We featured bay area comedians such as Joey Guila, Tony Sparks, Greg Jones, & Jasper Redd. We were involved in various talent showcases, Night Club Promotions, and Clear Channel Events. I also produced a Female review show called "KAMASUTRA". As well as weekly talent showcases called "Platinum Live". We also offered our consulting services to Major/Indie Labels where we were structure a plan to keep their single on top 10 billboards placement. We were in charge of Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Blu Cantrell, Carl Thomas, Next, BabyFace, 112, Outkast, Anthony Hamilton, Jacked Edge, and many others... We are also offer consultanting to music organizations such as ASCAP, BMI and GRAMMY Organization. I have written articles on "The Phenemenon of the American Idol The Neilson Story" and "The Matrix of Music Distribution" and which I was invited to be a guest speaker at various music conferences including the "Asian American Conference 2005 and Career Day at Various Colleges functions. Before I left the Bay Area my business partner Jimson Tamano produced a weekly event for grown folks called "Groove Zone" a Supper Club. We were personally invited to meet Smokey Robinson and his manager to discuss the promotional campaign for his new product Frozen "Gumbo Seafood" for be featured during our supper club night. It's a great pleasure working the New Boyz. Legacy and Ben J has what it take to Universal. I was introduced to them about a year with their first management team and its been hair raising ride every since.
