Ma Rain started with Wouter Planteijdt and Marijn Wijnands who did a lot of recording and playing together for the last five or six years. The songs are all written and performed by Marijn, Wouter did most of the recordings and he took care of production.

YIMA: Your Independent Music Agent (Inge)	Apr 25 2009 6:49 PM Graag attendeer ik JOU als Amsterdammer, muzikant , muziekliefhebber van (misschien wel Calexico?)Roots, Americana, folk en Singersongwriters op het volgende Event op vrijdag 1 mei, een ingelast intiem optreden van: the Epstein (UK), een 5 koppige band uit Oxford die al tot 2 x toe op het Glastonbury Festival stond als ' Best Emerging band' in Engeland verzorgt een speciaal, intiem en semi-akoestisch optreden in Amsterdam en dit optreden is helemaal gratis te bezoeken! De band wil namelijk zeer graag hun optreden van de volgende dag op het Rhythm&Bluesfestival in de Oosterpoort te Groningen promoten maar nog belangrijk; ook heel even onze hoofdstad bezoeken. Het zal krap worden op het podium en hopelijk ook in de zaal dus: kom dus allemaal vrijdagavond 1 mei naar Cafe Bax, Tenkatestraat, Amsterdam.
