Meet ‘The Marijuana Farmers' a sensational live drum and bass outfit currently blazing up the London scene. On the mic, Brixton-born Darren Shaw, already a well-known and respected MC and promoter more commonly known as DVS. On bass and keyboards – generator and disseminator of the group's hardcore rhythms and relentless b-lines, Jarmer Files, the herb fuelled, classically trained co-originator of the group. And on the drums – Jeremy– long time collaborator with Jarmer on a host of projects dedicated to extreme music. Jeremy's formidable physical presence allows him to hammer out beats faster and harder than an 808. The Farmers eschew the sub-Jazz noodlings and pretentious abstract indulgencies of other live drum and bass outfits in favour of an uncompromising emphasis on fast rhythms and rolling b-lines propelled by DVS infectious Mic chat. The EP showcases the group's anthem “Everybody's Raving Together” with “Gyal” and “Everybody Jump Up,” each track coupled with its riddim version, and the Farmers showing their roots with “Metaler” equals 35mins of drum and bass mash-up.
