///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Marinho Nobre's music is the result of years of blended influences and collaborations as an accomplished writer, producer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist. His composing style is becoming steadily well known as one with trademarks of a rather bold approach, insane attention to detail and the constant creation of the unexpected.
Born the only musician of a middle class family in the suburbs of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Marinho was raised listening to classical and world music, then submerged into the world of pop, rock and electronic. Learning guitar and music theory from age 9, in 1984 Marinho moved from his college studies in composition, classical guitar and conducting in order to continue his musical journey in the United States.
As an accomplished guitarist and main writer for rock bands such as the hardcore-metal "Wrekage NYC" and the techno-industrial outfit "Kx", Marinho performed and toured the US and abroad, and produced records for a multitude of bands and artists.
A grad from the UK based Music for the Media film music school, Marinho's fascination for scoring to picture came in the mid 90's while creating music for school plays and local cable tv commercials in New York. Since earning his first award in 2004 with a short documentary score for the NY Yellow pages (Skymedia), he has been continuing his studies in composition, orchestration and conducting under the mentorship of the likes of maestro Vincent La Selva (conductor and founder of the New York City Opera), TV composer Jeff MacDonald (CSI NY, Entourage, Final Destination 3) and orchestrator Scott Smalley (Batman, Mission Impossible, Robocop, The Insider).
With a growing credit list of award winning films, Marinho works from his private state of the art Pro Tools HD Mac driven digital recording facility in Long Island City, New York, where he gathers a myriad of sound libraries, synths, guitars, ethnic instruments, water bowls, sheet metals and anything that can bring the intriguing sounds inside his mind to reality.
Marinho recently won the Park City Film Music Festival Medal of Excellence for Best Score with his techno-Orchestral work on Paul Hough's Art-Horror short "The Angel". The film itself already won a best film award and is already in the rooster of over 14 other film festivals.
