WHERE I COME FROM
Miguel Rivera must have been beside himself as he watched Mona Delgado screaming in labor and thinking one thing, “it’s too soon!” as two premature Taurean babies limply slipped into the hands of the doctors half dead and unexpected to survive. A single mother of two other children already and another unfaithful child’s father, Mona Delgado looked for love in the wrong place once again. Watching the children clinging to life amongst the tubes and doctors quick movements the irresponsible young couple contemplate the bleak future of her unplanned, premature newborn fraternal twins.
Six months later on a dreadful morning in Pembroke projects in Bethlehem, Pa there was a knock at the door. Mona answered the door and told lil Petey to say good bye to his brothers and that they were leaving and not coming back. He sat there at a loss for words as he watched his baby brothers being whisked out the door by two catholic nuns and a social worker.--------------------------------
25 YEARS LATER
While sitting behind bars looking at a petition to involuntarily terminate his parental rights he is being asked to voluntarily terminate his rights in hopes his son may return in kinship foster care and not become a ward to the state. He was told that if he gets his life straight for a year or two that he would consider allowing him back into his life. He then wondered where his birthmother was and understood the pain it must have been for her to decide that a better life for him and his brother was to come before her fear of a total disconnection from them for what could possibly be the rest of her life. This fueled the fire to succeed for the Glory of God’s blessings in his life for his son was the seed that planted his new focus on the importance of life and God’s Will in it. He spent the next 6 months in jail reading music industry books, writing his lyrics and outlining his business plan with a vision to escape the streets, manifest a dream and build a legacy to support and hand down to his family but more for his son when their lives cross paths again. This company was to serve as a source of legitimate income, a ticket out of the illegal life and also the forefront of a multi faceted entity that would be capable of producing or outsourcing, through company affiliates, all the necessary elements of creating, producing, packaging, distributing, marketing and promoting their product at their fingertips.
Through this task he aspired to be a beacon of light to his peers and children by inspiring them to seek out their own strengths and talents and to nurture them with an entrepreneurial mind state. Mario’s music covers a diverse number of subjects intellectually, practically and spiritually with linguistic precision and maintains his individualism and soul all while adding his own bit of his birth town’s Hispanic flavor.
In 2009 Mario returned to his hometown and found his missing family. He is building on to his foundation in the local hip-hop music scene. Taurean Entertainment has opened shows for Bone Thugs-n Harmony, The Roots, Gillie Da Kid, DJ Skribble, Paul Wall, Vanilla Ice, Tony Sunshine, Immortal Technique, & Arch mille as well as lead shows under Taurean Entertainment in his hometown of Pottstown & his first solo promotions endeavor in the Lehigh Valley was The Beat the Heat Summer Bash which was a charity benefit for the Make a Wish foundation of Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia. Mario Efraim is definitely bull rushing this industry with visions to make a difference in this world.
