Currently, Marion is playing weekly with Bailey Hill Revival. Please visit their myspace.com page.
Marion also performs solo, continuing to work on her music, songwriting, expanding her vocal range, novel writing, and art.
Marion started singing at fifteen months of age, and no one has been able to stop her since then. She "made chords" on the piano until she was three, when she cut loose and started really playing it. Her dad brought her home a chromatic harmonica while she was in gradeschool, and she loved that immediately. Picking up her cousin's ukelele at age ten and tuning it to the tonic chord, she proceeded to play "flamenco" pieces on it, inspiring her mom to ask her dad to bring home a guitar from Japan when she turned thirteen, just to see if she'd take to it. Boy, did she ever!
The guitar became the love of Marion's musical life. Although she's added other instruments over the years, including the fiddle in her early twenties, if she only had one instrument with her on a desert island, she'd want it to be a really good guitar.
She got her good classical guitar at eighteen. Later came a Dreadnought, a twelve-string that a friend found at a garage sale that she was able to restore, a good acoustic/electric and an electric Strat.
Marion's first church solo came in Honolulu when she was two. At age nine, she was conducting the junior choir at her church in Rhode Island. She sang in the Glee Club in seventh grade, but after the family relocated to northern California, Marion's health took a severe downturn. It wouldn't look up again until after God healed her in southern California!
Unable to attend school on a regular basis, she studied with tutors, devoting much of her free time to playing piano and guitar. She also started writing songs on a regular basis. Up to that point, she'd written mostly poetry, short stories and some instrumental music for piano, though she had written one song when she was ten.
Raised with Classical and Country music, as she traveled the country with her parents, she learned to love ethnic music from various parts of the world. Although her musical style is definitely mixed, including at times Country, Classical, soft Rock, Jazz, Blues, and old 20th Century Pop, underlying it all is a love for music on the solid foundation of her love for God. In addition to English, Marion also sings in Hebrew, French, Spanish, German, Swedish, Japanese, Scottish Gaelic, and Irish. (She doesn't speak them all, but she wishes she did!)
Currently, Marion is a regular member of Bailey Hill Revival, house band of Bluff Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She can most often be heard playing fiddle with the band, though she does sing with them from time to time! Visit Bailey Hill Revival's Myspace page.
Marion has written a number of (still unpublished) novels, a published short story, scads of poetry, half a dozen screenplays and teleplays, and any number of songs, some of which you can hear right here on her Myspace page (soon, we promise, God willing). She just won this year's National Novel Writing Month challenge. She also participated in February Album Writing Month for the second year in a row, completing fifteen songs in twenty-nine days, mostly fiddle tunes, some of which should see the light of production before too much longer.
Marion is within a few songs of completing her first Christian album, and she's also working on a Country album. Plans are in the works for an album of her original music for Classic guitar, a Christmas album, plus some of her jazz and blues.

They are little cuties aren't they? I am really enjoying them living close. Billy is a mess, ever since he had to have stitches, he thinks bandaids are stickers and that they belong on people's foreheads. I think Cara's buying him Sesame Street stickers only encouraged it because as you saw I was covered! : ) Tell your mother I said hello!
