    Marion Fiedler gelingt das scheinbar Unmögliche: Sie komponiert als Deutsche eigene Lieder in bester amerikanischer Tradition, die authentisch sind. Die Sächsische Zeitung beschreibt ihre Musik als "beschwingt-fröhlich" und lobt die Kreativität des jungen Talents. Thematisch geht es oft um Grenzerfahrungen im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes, da Marion Fiedler seit einigen Jahren zwischen zwei Kontinenten pendelt: Europa und Amerika. Die Dresdner Musikhochschule hat sie natürlich geprägt, doch zum Glück ermöglichte ihr diese auch einen Studienaufenthalt in den USA, die ihre zweite Heimat (im Herzen vielleicht sogar die erste) werden sollte. Diese Reibung der verschiedenen Tempereramente machen den Reiz von Marion Fiedlers Songs aus. In der Zeit, die sie in Nashville, TN, gelebt hat, entstanden die Stücke ihres "American Songbook", welches bei den Jazztagen neu arrangiert in großer Besetzung mit Bläser-Section aufgeführt wird. Die musikalische Leitung dieses Projekts hat der Berliner Trompeter Sebastian Piskorz übernommen, den man ansonsten hauptsächlich durch seine Arbeit mit Keimzeit kennt. Die Liveband besteht aus Dresdner Musikern, die sich einen hervorragenden Ruf in verschiedensten Stilistiken erspielt haben, wie z.B Schlagzeuger Matthias Macht, der bei all seinen Projekten von Free Jazz über traditionellen Jazz bis hin zum dreckigen Songwriter-Rock eines Chris Whitley seinen persönlichen M8-Sound wiedererkennbar kultiviert hat. Marion Fiedler hat das Talent, Menschen von sich und ihrer Musik zu begeistern. Leute wie Wynton Marsalis hat sie bereits überzeugt. Bei ihrem Auftritt im Rahmen der Jazztage wird dieser Bann wieder zu spüren sein, und auch das Dresdner Publikum wird es zum Schluss wohl nicht auf den Sitzen halten. Sie können Marion Fiedler mit verschiedenen Besetzungen buchen. Vom kammermusikalischen Trio bis hin zur großen Band mit 3 Bläsern und Rhythmusgruppe. Kleine Besetzung: Gesang, Gitarre/Klavier, Trompete. Mittlere Besetzung: Gesang, Schlagzeug, Bass,Gitarre/Klavier, Trompete. Große Besetzung: Gesang, Schlagzeug, Bass, Gitarre/Klavier, Posaune, Saxophon, Trompete. ___________________________________ Marion Fiedler is a well-seasoned & experienced professional singer, songwriter, composer and arranger. As a child, Marion taught herself how to play several instruments and discovered that through the help of her musical abilities, she could reach out and touch people in a deeper more meaningful way through her gift. Thanks to the influences of all Marion's great teachers & instructors, she has gained more than just the basics in regards to her performance, vocal, and writing abilities. While traveling around the world as a professional artist, Marion has studied Contemporary Jazz & Arrangement at Belmont University Nashville, TN/USA as well as the University of Music Dresden/Germany. Marion's programs feature her own songs/material that tell her stories through vibrant lyrics as well as moving music. Marion works in many more genres than JAZZ, including: SWING, LATIN, BLUES, FUNK, JAZZY FOLK, CHRISTIAN MUSIC, CHANSON, POP, and everything else that touches the soul. She performs on a regular basis with her jazz band and the TOWNPIPE BIGBAND as well as a solo artist around the world. Marion has been involved in several select band and choir projects, shared her first experiences with Big Bands at the age of 16, has won awards for compositions and jazz performance, taken part in theater, as well as audio books and film productions as a writer, director and professional performer. Marion also composes classically as well as for jazz combos/ Big Bands.
