At the beginning of 2006 it came to light that after a 7 year absence, Jaime Harding and Phil Cunningham were working together again, writing and demoing new material with long time friend Carl Jackson. Deciding to revive the Marion and recruiting Jack Mitchell from Haven on drums, Jake Evans from Rambo & Leroy and Che Hargreaves on guitar and bass respectively they played a successful gig at the Green Park Tavern in Bath, the set featuring a selection of Marion classics and brand new songs. The rest of the year brought more gigs and more new material, with increased intrest from both the press and fans, old and new. However, a mixture of health issues within the band caused momentum to stall, and there was no activity through 2007. Now, with everyone fit again, the band are ready to take up where they left off in December 2006, and with Beard now agreeing to join the fold, Solo gigs by Jaime, along with reports of new material and forthcoming gigs by the full band suggest that the future is once again bright for Marion.

I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a new tune called Run Bobby Run:
Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for the add!!! Stay in touch & if we are ever anywhere near you when we are on tour please come out to a show.
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen to our songs. Please help support the band by purchasing our music through Amazon. com, iTunes or IndieStore.
Thanks again for your support and do have a great week!
