The stunningly gorgeous Marisol Nichols is quickly becoming one of the most, desired and respected actresses in Hollywood. Born and raised in Chicago, her mid-western roots and exotic looks, a combination of Mexican, Hungarian and Romanian, have allowed her to portray an extreme variety of diverse characters. Marisol is currently starring on the Emmy-award-winning drama “24”, as Nadia Yassir. A Pakistani- American, who becomes the acting director of CTU. Her portrayal of Nadia has earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress from the ALMA’s. She was also nominated for an ALMA for Outstanding Actress for her starring role in NBC’s ”The Princess and the Marine”. She was the recipient of a Golden Eagle Award for Most promising Actor or Actress, and also recently was honored with the New Establishment Award at the 2nd Annual La Femme International Film Festival.

Playing the female lead on Stephen Bochco’s “Blind Justice” opposite Ron Eldard earned her critical acclaim. ABC was so blown away by her portrayal of hardened NY homicide detective Karen Bettancourt; they immediately placed her in another ABC drama “In Justice” playing Sonya Quintano, an impassioned human rights lawyer, working opposite Kyle MacLachlan.
Completely versatile as an actress, Marisol jumps from drama to comedy. Marisol filled her hiatus from these dramatic shows by co-starring in the Lions Gate comedy “Delta Farce” as the love interest of comedian Larry The Cable Guy and playing opposite Martin Lawrence in Big Momma’s House 2”. Her other film credits include the beloved “Audrey Griswold” in “Vegas Vacation” with Chevy Chase, a role she still gets stopped on the street for, “Can’t Hardly Wait”, “Scream 2”, “Bowfinger” and Touchstone’s “Mafia”.
Her numerous television credits include her starring role as‚”Victoria Santiago” on the ground-breaking Latin show “Resurrection Blvd”, as well as guest appearances and recurring roles on hit series such as “Law and Order SVU”, “ER”, “Cold Case”, ”Friends”, ”Alias”‚ ”Nip/Tuck”‚ “CSI” and others. She has starred in three television movies, including NBC’s “The Princess and the Marine” earning her ALMA nomination, NBC’s “Homeland Security” and “The Princess and the Barrio Boy”.
For the past five years, Nichols has been passionately working to rehabilitate juveniles as an activist, spokesperson and volunteer supervisor for Criminon, an international, non-profit organization, addressing the cause of criminality and reversing the revolving door of our criminal justice system. And for over ten years, Marisol has acted as a Commissioner and spokesperson for the international organization CCHR, particular with “Fight for Kids”. “Fight For Kids” is a non-profit, public benefit organization that works specifically on the issue of the psychiatric drugging of our nations children, an issue in which Marisol is highly dedicated. Speaking at fundraising and awareness events, traveling to D.C. and meeting with members of Congress, Marisol helps to educate parents with all the information they are entitled to so that they may make informed decisions about placing their child on mind altering drugs. Marisol has received numerous awards, acknowledgements, and resolutions for her humanitarian work in these fields.

The two-hour special is organized by The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S. The annual ALMA (American Latino Media Arts) Awards recognize and celebrate Latino artistic achievement in American film, television and music. "The 2007 ALMA Awards" air on Tuesday, June 5th 9/8c on ABC.
