Music
Well, er...I'm sort of a classical music dweeb and think western music went into a decline after Johann Sebastian Bach died in 1750...and other than that I'm still stuck in the 80s...The Police, Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, Laurie Anderson, REM, the B-52s, Annie Lennox... I should look for professional help on this but I'm probably too far gone.
Movies
Time Bandits, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Apollo 13, Much Ado About Nothing, Muppet Treasure Island, Spirited Away, anything with Wallace & Gromit, Jumanji, The Philadelphia Story, Bringing Up Baby, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Good Morning Vietnam, The Year of Living Dangerously, the A&E mini-series of Pride and Prejudice
Television

I write Young Adult historical fantasy (and other stuff too!) Please look out for my books coming from Henry Holt Books for Young Readers: BEWITCHING SEASON in April 2008, and BETRAYING SEASON in September 2009. When I'm not writing, I'm a mom and the devoted slave of a spoiled rotten, litter-box trained, alpha male, 14-pound French Lop rabbit named Maple.
About Bewitching Season...
Almost 18-year-old Persephone Leland and her twin sister Penelope are about to make their debuts in London society in the spring of 1837, much to Persy's dismay. She's a witch, you see, and she'd far rather stay home and study magic with her governess than go husband-hunting in crowded London ballrooms. The only possible bright spot is that she might finally get a glimpse of her heroine, the Princess Victoria, who shares the twins' birthday...and who'll one day be queen of England.
But when the twins' beloved governess vanishes from a London street, Persy finds a lot more to do than dance at parties and avoid bad millinery... like rescue Victoria and her governess from a plot to seize control of the Crown by magic. But will she succeed, even with the help of her annoying little brother Chuckles--er, Charles--and Lochinvar, the equally annoying boy-next-door who's turned into a gorgeous young man since he came home from his Grand Tour? And what about that love spell she cast on Lochinvar after drinking too much punch at her first party? Honestly, it's enough to send anyone straight into a decline...
Check back soon for further details on BETRAYING SEASON, the story of Pen Leland's adventures in Ireland, due out this fall!

Thank you for being a friend. I look forward to getting to know you.
2009 is Harlequin's 60th anniversary and they are celebrating all year long. May is Harlequin Historical books Spotlight Month and there is so much going on. Watch for bulletins and blogs from me to keep up on everything. Plus, I have a contest this month where you may win SIGNED copies of some wonderful books.
Thanks so much for adding me. It's great to meet other book-lovers and people who understand that fiction is as important to "real life" as, well, real life.
I think Bewitching Season just might be the best new book I've read all year! I love the story so much...it's like five different stories in one. Can't wait for Betraying Season to hit the shelves!!
