Bio
Maritime Hotel - named after the legendary Belfast blues club/beatnik hangout of the 60's- is a vehicle for the folky acoustic pop of Brighton-based Northern Irish songwriter Brian Bell...new tracks featured on MySpace are from collaboration in Brittany with Irish producer/guitarist/all-round top fella Topher Loudon (member of folk festival faves The Churchfitters and acclaimed figure on Breton roots/rock 'n roll circuit) and American arranger/bassist Joel Bennett - Joel's career includes writing the retro soundtrack for early Leonardo Di Caprio flick 'The Foot Shooting Party' and playing bass for Randy Newman and Little Richard! Also involved in these sessions are Breton virtuoso Vassili Caillosse (pedal-steel, dobro, banjo & slide guitar) and drummer Rufus O'Callaghan. In Brighton, Maritime Hotel's music has also had input from seaside musos Simon Wilkinson, Jason Murphy, Stewy Babbs, Simon Russell, Rob McRobert, Grant Allardyce and various other hallions to whom thanks and pints are owed... ..
