"I'm on something of a French kick right now. Along with all the Valerie kids, Breakbot and DatA are all rising stars of French electronic music. We can add to that list the Parisian duo, Marius & Cesar. The duo caught my attention with their nifty little edit of Breakbot's superb Summer Party from earlier in the year. The pair of brothers kindly sent me over the remix which wonderfully re-invents the original. Also in their little package was an original tune, Midnight, which has got loads of minimalist electronic funk and a squiggly '80s synth solo. So, you know, it's great.
Go check their MySpazz page for more terrific songs and watch out for their new stuff which they say has a giant Metallica worked away in there. Should be ace, yo."

"M & C ont 23 et 20 ans et sont 2 frères ; fils de musiciens classiques, ils ont passé de nombreuses années au conservatoire (solfège, piano, batterie, saxophone, percussions… années vécues difficilement ; dire qu’on fait du piano et qu’on joue du Chopin le mercredi après-midi quand on est dans un lycée de banlieue parisienne, c’est pas super “cool”).
M a commencé à mixer au lycée (surtout de la house, à l’époque où FG était encore underground et plein d’autres trucs variés, funk, big beat, abstract hiphop, techno, disco…) et mixe de plus en plus, avec SCOTCH-MAN, au sein de la Radio Double Flash Flash (crew de DJ, graphiste, styliste : www.myspace.com/radiodoubleflashflash) ; parallèlement, C s’est tourné un peu plus tard vers les synthés, machines et autres logiciels, avant de commencer une école d’ingénieur du son.
6 mois après avoir commencé sérieusement à composer et produire, ils ont réalisé un remix pour Breakbot et un autre pour les Chemical Brothers. Ils ont aussi travaillé sur des musiques de court-métrage d’animation ou de pub réalisés par M (Sony Rolly…).
Les amateurs d’electro house comme moi seront ravis par la rythmique entraînante, et les sonorités propre au duo. Espérons que le buzz se fera très rapidement, car si buzz il y a il sera
Justifié. Bon les mecs je compte sur vous pour que la french touch soit fier de vous.
