I was Raised in New York City, and was exposed to all types of Music. My parents are musicians themselves and educated me at a young age. I learned the life of the professional musician from my mom, being around all of her rehearsals and concerts. I was trained in piano and violin, but it was the trumpet that really captured my imagination.
I moved to the Bay Area at age 15 and was playing nightclubs in San Francisco, while performing with The Oakland and San Francisco Symphonies. I played in different bands, but it was with Group 87 that I started to have more recognition in the electronic music world as a performer and as a synthesizer programmer. In the jazz World I went on to collaborate and perform with many incredible artists, I enjoy Jazz for the improvisationally quality of the music. I apply a similar technique to films. There isn't a rote way to create Film Music, you really have to understand what the director is communicating and add to the vision. The music enriches the story being told but not to take away.
Someone asked me once what I thought was my best work, and funny enough it was the last project I worked on which is THE BLACK DAHLIA,Brian De Palma film, I must say it is the best work of my career.
