Blurbs

About me:

I'm a writer. If I'm not writing, I'm reading. If I'm not reading, I'm probably lost in the woods somewhere in my Jeep or my kayak with a Nikon around my neck.

If you're interested, you can read some of my work at www.MarkPettus.com.

Who I'd like to meet:

John Irving, Margaret Atwood, Ian McEwan, Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, John Updike, and about a thousand other great writers. I'd also like to meet the agent who is going to sell my novels, and the editor who is going to publish them. I've already met so many of the authors whose work has moved me. Most have been kind and generous.

Interests

  • General

Books, photography, art, fishing, alligator wrestling.
  • Music

I like all kinds of music, from Mozart to Eminem, Molly Hatchet to Celtic instrumentals.
  • Movies

Princess Bride is maybe my all time favorite. "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
  • Television

House MD, Heroes, reruns of Boston Legal and NCIS. Not much excites me on the tube right now.
  • Books

Havana, Autobiography of a City by Alfredo Jose Estrada. Excellent book.

Networking

  • I'm an artist, and photography and literature are my chosen media. I've been a professional photojournalist, and I've also done studio work and gallery exhibitions.

  • I'm a writer, reporter, book critic and the executive editor of a publishing group that includes The Ponte Vedra Recorder, Currents, The St. Johns County Business Ledger and the First Coast Register. I have several published works of fiction and
