Grew up in Thailand, Uganda and Germany. Started playing the flute at seventeen - ended up studying both, Jazz and Classical Music at the School of Arts, Amsterdam. Private tuition in the US. Now student of the Bansuri (Indian Bamboo Flute) at the Rotterdam Conservatory.

Within ‘Lotz Of Music’ builds a bridge between jazz and classical contemporary music - often crossing boundaries with other musics of the world. Most recent project is the CD 'A Dutch View On Fish!' A collaboration with Dutch composers and a VJ.
Mark Lotz is more than just a big voice in the European jazz scene. He is at the forefront of jazz, classical and World Music and is obviously enjoying every minute of it!
