Artist
I'm currently playing open mic nights, looking to play opening slots for bands at shows, festivals and small acoustic venues. I play a mixture of my own chilled out acoustic ballads - covers - etc. If you would like to book me for a show, just get in touch via the message button <--
Engineer
I'm a qualified Engineer [BSc Sound Engineer], I'm currently working at a couple of live music venues in Cardiff and seeking work with touring bands within the UK and abroad. I'm honest, confident and hard-working with a passion for live music and a constant desire to learn and improve my trade.
Producer
I have a small studio in my bedroom and can record and produce good quality mixes for artists - just get in touch so we can discuss your needs.
I'm currently accepting mixes of artists music on CD/DVD in .WAV format (one .WAV per track) and offering to do free mixing and mastering for any bands in the UK or abroad. If you would like to take advantage of this, it will help both of us. I need to sharpen my mixing skills, and if you haven't the ability to mix yourself I'm able to give you a good sounding mix for free - you can check out the mixes I am responsible for in my music box [above]
If you have any questions for me, don't hesitate to get in touch via the 'message' button. Take it Easy :)
Yeah, cheers Mark, just to second what one of us wrote yesterday- thanks a lot for taking the time to write a lil piece! Well interesting after being cooped up for 2 years doin these. Thanks for liking 'Rally Car too- always liked that one but it's taken a while for the demo to sound up to scratch.
*Cardiff Carpark is a fabricated railway station which is an amalgamation of Cardiff Central and Bristol Parkway. It lies half way between these two cities, curiously closer to Newport than either Bristol or Cardiff. Although it's advertised as a Cardiff station, on arrival you are in fact dumped on the edge of an industrial estate- in much the same way as Luton and Stanstead airports are advertised as being London serving airports. The large warehouse to the right is where the ram-raiding takes place shortly after 5:20 in the morning. (The 4:34 am train to Cardiff Carpark takes aprox 40 minutes from Bristol Temples Meads) Don't tell anyone about this and it'll be our little secret okay?!
- We produced it (Daniel & Ali) in Daniels garage/studio.
- In '95, the drums aren't sequenced, I (ali) play those beats (and indeed the beats in nurishment) on drum pads that are part of my kit.
Glad you enjoyed it...we are writing the rest of our album at the mo and moving our studio to London so i believe it's gonna go semi-quiet for a bit but hopefully not for long.
Its going to be another great session at the Talisman Sounds Open Mic at Varsity Roath on Monday. We'll be setting up from 7.30 and kicking off for about 8.
Last month was a struggle to get everyone in but thanks to Craig the landlord not locking the doors we succeeded.
Give me a shout if you coming and want to play. We'll do some together if you like. Line up so far includes Steve & Pete Hughes, Jeanie & Wyn, Dave Psyched by Silence, Stewie Alexander, Dave Griffiths, Angharad, and a very special surprise guest!
hello mark we are playing in shrewsbury on saturday night. it should be great night. a free limited edition album will be available to anyone who attends. its not a lady fortune album. x
Ha ha, thanks! My year 7s think I'm in my early 40s, I kid you not. Can't remember why it's set to say I'm 15, think it's from back in the day when you couldn't set it to private and I was scared of pupils finding me.

the sounds are so refreshing and new (yet so old). Close your eyes and listen to “Smoke filled room”, you could be riding a tug down the Mississippi.

JOE WILKES
"Joe Wilkes is one of those all-too-rare musicians who, when they play, make you believe in them instantly….The great beauty of Here On This Frontline is encapsulated perfectly by the title track, which paints an exotic musical backdrop in front of which is played a poignant love song, born out of tragedy. The whole thing is delivered with such delicacy that it can’t fail to move even the most hardened of cynics….Joe Wilkes doesn’t patronize his audience or trivialize his music, this is a serious album that shines bright".

HONEY ON MY GRAVE
Honey on my Grave is a 4-piece band that brings together Old Time, Blues and original songs with a bit of Country attitude. The band was formed following jam sessions at acoustic festivals around Bristol. The band members come with a litany (great word) of influences but Glen's preoccupation with the 70's glamband 'Sweet' is a worry.
