.. .... .. .. .......................... .... ..If Eric Clapton says "Great stuff!" about anyone's music, pay attention! Best known for a highly successful career in first class cricket, Mark is now concentrating on music: recording, playing live and taking up opportunities as diverse as duetting on National TV with Sarah Brightman, to trading licks with Albert Lee and Bill Wyman at the Royal Albert Hall. Mark started playing guitar at 13 and was already writing and playing live regularly before signing with Surrey County Cricket Club, so music has long been an integral part of his life. Influenced by the likes of Al Green, Robert Cray, Freddie King, Mavis Staples, Little Feat, Stevie Wonder, Small Faces, Eric Clapton and Bonnie Raitt, his style is a classy blend of heartfelt blues and soul. A stunning debut album "Songs from the Sunhouse" (available on iTunes, Amazon etc) was critically well received, with self-penned songs inspired by his experiences of life, love and loss: Properganda Magazine said "chock-full of soulful vocals and stinging guitar with funky twists and turns that hit the mark every time …quality stuff". .. ........ .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. -

MARK BUTCHER, EX ENGLAND BATSMAN STARTED PLAYING GUITAR AGED 13 AND WAS WRITING AND PLAYING LIVE REGULARLY BEFORE SIGNING TERMS WITH SURREY CCC. INSPIRED BY HIS EXPERIENCE OF LOVE, LIFE AND FAMILY THE SONGS OFFER A MODERN TAKE ON THE BEST TRADITIONS OF SOUL, BLUES AND R&B.
MARK HAS ALREADY HAD DIVERSE EXPOSURE TO THE MUSIC BUSINESS-FROM APPEARANCES ON NATIONAL TV DUETING WITH SOPRANO SARAH BRIGHTMAN (!), TO THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL TRADING LICKS WITH BILL WYMAN AND ALBERT LEE. OH YES, AND EC'S A FAN!

Hi Mark - hope it's going well - we're following in your footsteps at The Borderline next week. If we're half as good as you were I'll be happy. Cheers, Nick
Thanks Mark. How good's your memory? When you were 8, you and gary used to play tennis ball cricket at the oval under the stand during rain with whoever would give you a game. I was one of those guys about 13 at the time. You smashed me all over the place! I went to Trinity School and played for the midwives a few times too but we kept missing each other. I even worked at lords 83 to 86. I now live in scotland and chair fort william cricket club. I could do with some cricketing help and i thought of you. Can you contact me please?
Hi Mark,
