"Some deft, skilled and atmospheric open-tuned guitars cascade whilst a scattergun of an alt/US indie vocal delivers a cryptic, acerbic, wised-up and slightly berserk lyric of urban paranoia and self doubt. At times like the magnificent Cake, or Jonathan Richman, this is a strange and possibly precious thing."
- Davey Ray Moor
"These songs are lush."
- Mega Thomas, Thomas Tantrum
Growing up in Ottawa, Canada, and picking up the guitar at some silly pre-pubescent age, Mark Coldham is an odd case. Transplanted as an adolescent in the small town of Colchester, Essex, he began making a name for himself in local bars and coffee shops, distributing free demo CD-R's in sandwich bags.
Taking clear melodic inspiration from American alternative and indie rock, and vocal delivery cadences from hip hop, Coldham consitutes his own eclectic one man band, and uses percussive fingerstyle guitar techniques which often question the need for a drummer.
His unusually structured, post-modern compositions often deal lyrically with lyric-writing itself, and the quandaries that come with it. Having recorded and produced his own studio EP (with the Cousteau's Davey Ray Moor on board), Coldham now plans to play the shit out of the UK and beyond, so keep your eyes peeled.

Thanks for being our friend. Hope you like the songs? You can find more at Last FM including some you can download for free (http://www. last. fm/music/Mr+Bones+And+The+Dreamers). Liking the Song Song by the way, good one. If you get a chance come along and see us in Bristol, we're playing with the very lovely Suzy Condrad.
I didn't know you could drum as well. Dude, the song and video are absolutely amazing well done. I remember the song played solo but it works amazingly as a band. Never did get to Bath did I? Actually I just managed to get a friend to play drums. We're doing a few gigs and going over to Berlin to visit Glen and play a gig there. We should go out some other time and drink round Berlin. You ever been there? I think you'd absolutely love it. Do you still have gig contacts? Maybe me and Nena could come play a gig, I think she's up for a bit of travelling round and I finish my job in a week. You think you could give me some details of places to play in Bath, maybe we could come over late Feb. Good to hear you again! X
Hey Mark! Despite the crap sound, I really enjoyed your set last night. You have real talent! Also, that was the fist time in years i'd heard that weezer song... made me very happy! : )
Cool recordings you got there markio. Hey, I don't suppose I could get you to play guitar on one of our tracks could I? It's dead easy, I wrote it. Same chords the whole way through, 4/4 timing etc. Crying out to be improved! x
