Just a road comic - I travel all over the country but base out of both Austin, TX (hot bed of Bohemian artists) and my hometown of Dayton, OH (a town so quiet you can hear the dreams die...) These twin influences give my material an odd mix of hipster edge and Midwestern accessibility - somewhere between a thinking-man's-comic and a drinking-man's-comic.

Influences
Influences:
Bill Hicks, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Jon Stewart, Jake Johannsen, Patton Oswalt, David Cross, Richard Jeni.
But let’s talk about more important influences:NPR, This American Life, NYTimes, Slate, New Yorker, Harpers, graphic novels, old radio shows, whiling away an afternoon in a used bookstore, trolling thrift stores for funky clothes, bouncing between Happy Hours, small family-owned ethnic restaurants.
Great theater to inspire or bad theater to amuse. Drinking, but only in a slow, steady stream, never in obnoxious amounts all at once.
Musuems/art galleries--
Parking garage roofs, gay bars where all the cool straight people hang out, hole-in-the-wall shit-kicker bars, lectures, bingos, live music and anywhere with a jukebox that makes me salivate
"Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don’t have to know about Plato and Aristotle to serve. You don’t have to know Einstein’s "Theory of Relativity" to serve. You don’t have to know the Second Theory of Thermal Dynamics in Physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love, and you can be that servant." M.L.K.

I could care less about professional sports, what kind of engine is in my car or People Magazine.
Enjoy sinnin', blasphemin', truth tellin', fornicatin', free thinkin' and other threats to society. Try to keep any hypocritin', liein', or whinin' to a minimum.

I use my bike. A lot. I use my library card. A lot. I use my common sense. Somewhat less than a lot.
I don't trust girls who are too girly and guys who are too manly, people who think with their guts, and people who believe their god-creature hates anyone/anything.

If we all work together then maybe... someday... we can make this country realize that "Git-R-Done" just isn't funny.

Happy Birthday! Btw, I saw a guy at my gym with a sick tribal band around the upper part of his calf. Then slightly below that was a Chinese symbol. Made me think of your blog.
Second day has been fantastic. It's already becoming second nature for me. I still need to work on taking off from first shift, though. Haha. I think I'm going to buy it from you. :)
