All that need be said about singer-songwriter Mark Cote
(pronounced koh-tay ) is best summed up by the artist himself: "Music is oxygen. Whether I'm writing a song at the piano or performing with my band in front of an audience, I never feel more alive than I do in those moments."
Other known trivia about the Canadian-born musician is as follows:
a) His gene pool is divided between Palmerston North, New Zealand and Montreal, Canada, courtesy of his mother and father, respectively.
b) His favorite color is green.
c) His personal motto: "In life, three things are essential to get you from A to Z. A sense of direction. A sense of balance. And a sense of humor ... and I might add, comfortable shoes."
d) He is currently working in the studio on his forthcoming CD with producer Michael Frondelli, whose credits include working with Crowded House, Marianne Faithfull and Oingo Boingo among many others. Musicians playing on the CD include noted studio veterans Leland Sklar (James Taylor, Jackson Browne), Denny Seiwell (Paul McCartney-Wings), Zac Rae (Fionna Apple, Annie Lennox) and Greg Bissonette, to name a few.

How are you? I keep checking to see if you've put up any new songs that you've been recording! I know I'm going to love them but the suspense is killing me! :)
I'm headed off to NY this weekend for a publishing expo. I'll tell you about it afterward.
Keep making beautiful music and do let me know how it's coming along!
Hi Mark! My goodness I haven't figured this myspace out yet. I'm sending my messages to the Wrong place, still. Hope you had a wonderful weekend, and I hope to hear more of your music soon. Please let me know when your CD is ready.
Dear Mark What a nice surprise from you have to visit you. Too bad that I'm not at home, and only now can read. Yes I'm fine. Sometimes it is very stressful in my job as a nurse. I really do not want to do something else. The way you love your profession as a musician so I love mine. Mark, I hope my English is good enough to understand what I write. Thus, it is often stressful, I love it. So I have also my daily marathon. But to see into happy and grateful eyes wipes away all the effort and you also look at happy faces at a concert. And writing music, to create, is something wonderful. As much as I would be right there and not only hear the finished work. This is like something being born must be a wonderful, exciting feeling and that feeling certainly compensated for all the hurdles you must overcome. I look forward to your new songs, and they will listen with a smile and you certainly write what I think. Dear Mark, it is lovely to have you here and with you also your music....
thank you for the kind words. :) It's very nice to hear from you...and enjoy your talent. :) May you live at peace and with the awareness of Universe's love in every sunset, every flower's unfolding petals, every baby's smile, loving partner's kiss, and every wonderful, astonishing, miraculous beat of your heart. Keep in touch. :)
Hello, I hope you are having a great Sunday and relaxing weekend. It is not that nice here - dull and cold, well I am cold at least. Not doing a lot today just chilling on the computer and watching a bit of telly. I hope you are ok. Take care and hope to hear from you soon. Sara XXX
Good luck with the CD - hope it will soon be completed. Should be amazing I should think. I love your music - it always sounds so good. I hope you are ok and having a great day. Sara XXX
Hey Sweetie, is it New York time yet? By the way my husband is crazy about Fun House, he sort of half sings half hums it around the house lol. Bless his heart, he is 73 years young!
