Mark hails from Leeds, and has just finished studying for a degree in Jazz at the famous Leeds College of Music.
He is a reeds player, playing alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, clarinet and bass clarinet, as well as composing and arranging music.
Mark regularly plays with RnB/funk/soul band , also known as .

Mark has a strong focus on jazz, and works in several bands at the moment which reflect this. His own quartet Sculpture Park gigs a set of exciting original tunes in a quasi-Scofield/Joshua Redman vibe. This band is part of the Leeds-based Big Filthy Jazz collective.
This quartet also plays traditional jazz, ideally suited to provide music for dinners, weddings and other similar functions.
Big band experience includes working with Sir John Dankworth, Omar Puente and Raul D'Oliveira.

Nice vibe, tunes sound good... So what year are you in then!?! By reading some comments it sounds like you might have just finished your degree? It's been a while since I was in Leeds (been a while since I've been in the UK) I studied in LCM in 2000, how's the place doing?

Yer its been really good so far, just a bit of a shame about the weather really. Plenty of gigs and we've just finished recording a 3 track EP with Pinstripe. Got a little hip-hop project on the go now which is lots of fun, just nice writing in a different style for a change. Off to Spain in two weeks, can't wait for some sun!! Good luck with the gig.
