Mark Rose is a singer/songwriter from Chicago, IL who plays his own blend of blues infused rock and pop. Front man and key songwriter for rock band Spitalfield from 1998-2007, Rose has made a name for himself as a versatile songwriter and performer. “The guys deserve credit for knowing exactly where to go big and when to hold back for maximum effect,” says All Music Guide’s Corey Apar, of Spitalfield’s 2006 effort, Better Than Knowing Where You Are.
In and out of the studio, on and off the road, Rose is developing his sound and taking the next step of his career. “The Greatest Lakes" CD/EP is the first recorded sample of new music coming out to the public, showcasing a different side of his talent and perhaps a great indicator of what’s to come stylistically. "The Greatest Lakes is not predictable acoustic tripe, but rather a nice, tight set of jazzy, groove-infused blues-rock that carries a rather distinct identity," says Steve Henderson of Absolutepunk.net.
Mark studied music composition at Columbia College in Chicago for two years before signing a recording contract with Spitalfield in 2003 to Victory Records. The group disbanded at the end of 2007, but not before releasing three full length albums, selling over 130,000 copies worldwide, and taking their music to the stage in nine countries on three continents. As one chapter ends a new chapter begins for the young musician, who is just 26 years old. “My goal is to make music I'm passionate about, and to give it my all. If it can stand up on its own, I've done my job. The rest is up to those listening to it.”

What's up?, I know you have great taste in music. Black Suede has just recently released a New song titled "Revenue Stream." Drop through and let us know what think about it. Your Opinion Means a lot!
I listened to Spitalfield all last week non stop top to bottom. I listened to Remember Right Now and thought about how changed my life. Honestly, you have no idea. Then I listened to stop doing bad things ... and thought back to how it seemed like you guys were right there reading my mind. Then I listened to Better Than Knowing where you are and I got sad because I felt like you were such a brillant underrated voice. Hold on and Listen are two songs that motivate me in life. I always seem to miss you when you come out to philly. It makes me feel a bit empty I used to come and see spitalfield every time they were in town. I guess it's signs of growing up. However, I still remember the co-headlining tour with the t's at North Star one of the best shows of my life. I know I'm babbling but seriously Mark ... thanks a lot. Since I turned 17 it seems like you've written the soundtrack to my life. Including your current project, I look forward to hearing more and I hope to catch you next time you're in town.
Hope all is well, It's good hearing from you. I'm lovin the new tunes! It sounds great and I'm happy to know that you're still making music- keep doing what your doing. I'm excited for the full length!
