I like ALL kinds of music - this is due to my background in Anthropology, travel & desire to learn about other cultures. I feel there are 2 types of music, Good and bad and the bad really has to suck for me not to be able to get something out of it. The music I like goes from Lute music to Baroque to Todd Rundgren to Tom Waites - Slayer, GWAR, Zombie (both White & Rob), Pulp, World Music, DUB, Dance hall, 311 (esp. plus that shit w/ Scott! HA) anything 80's type -----
Favorite Musicans - Todd Rundgren, Tony Franklin, Rob Zombie, Billy Sheehan, Marc Bolan, Andy Tanas - what a great guy! & Graham Bonnett - NOTE - Keep checking because this area will change and grow!
Movies
I'll watch pretty much anything - but I really don't like drama type - family issue type movies - that's too much like with my job! Comedy, suspense - alot of this depends on who else is watching - due to having an off (Monty Python type, dry, "smart ass") sense of humor.
Television
Cartoons (Simpson's, Family Guy & American Dad), anything that I can either laugh at or learn from. Nothing like soap operas - I can't stand being around people like that in REAL LIFE - so why would I want to spend my free time watching that stuff.
Books
Anything historical or biographical. I really don't like novel's - however I am a Hunter S. Thompson fan.
Heroes
My parents, brothers & sister - we're Nine's - we're survivors! Todd Rundgren, Tony Franklin, Billy Sheehan, Steve Vai, Mike Purdy, Reeves Gabrel, George Strait (yeah that's right - he & Reeves never gave & up look where they're at!) people who give without thinking of the outcome; people like firefighters, cops and soldiers- i.e. ALL the members of SOG from Vietnam; Medal of Honor Winners like CSM Miller, Zabitosky &all of the others. PLUS The MONTAGNARD PEOPLE - .

About me: I'm Mark Nine (AKA -"Mark 9, Niner,Sharky, square root, hey you get away from my house, leave me alone or I'll call the cops" and others) I play bass.
I played bass in a band called "DAX" (www.DAX.org OR our myspace - DAX)for the last 2 years or so until employment beckoned Dax (the singer)to NYC.- I try to avoid boredom. I play multiple instruments. I've also played with Jimmy Durham & Cory Cooper in a band called "The Loco Boys" - these cats are now with "Wicked Brew" - killer country - check em out!
I live in Austin, I'm a musician, protector of the unprotected (really!!!!), confidant & general man about town! HA!.
I'm old enough to be charged and tried as an adult. I know, I know my page is bland - sorry I don't know how to put music on my page or do the cool pimp my page stuff! If anyone knows how - HELP HA! -
I'm a softie when it comes to kids and animals (hey if they can't make you smile -what can?) - I've been told that's a bad thing - Is it? - Let me know. I like animals & can't stand people who treat pets / animals like disposable objects. I don't like alot of stuff that is hurtful to people, but I'll cry during "Bambi" and get in a fight with someone for laughing at me! I like kids & CANNOT stand people who are abusive to kids. I'm sensitive (boo - hoo -HA), I can wear my emotions like a coat, but I really tend to take other people's feelings into consideration.
I'm a college grad. I speak / have working knowledge of several languages. I have been to numerous countries and I enjoy learning about & experiencing other cultures I'm not here to collect people & I'm not here to play some "cyber stud" BS. Do not contact me if you want me to look at your "naughty" pictures - I don't care if they are free or what - to me this is the same as karaoke people; you're just trying to get attention to stroke your own ego!
