He left Penn after his junior year and was selected in the 7th round of the 1996 MLB First-Year Players Draft by the Atlanta Braves. … On Nov. 14, 2006 he signed to a three-year, $13 million contract with the Cubs. … The versatile utility man can play outfield and every position in the infield. ...
