About me:

After much thought, consideration and prayer, I have decided to run for the United States House of Representatives to represent the 5th Congressional District of Georgia. Encompassing Atlanta and some of the surrounding areas, this district and community are full of history but in the words of Barack Obama, this generation's "time has come" to bridge the gaps between the glory of our past and the challenges of our future. Now is the time in our city, state, nation and world for our history to meet our hope(s)... Through the leadership of some of our nation's most cherished civil rights icons, this community has served as a catalyst for social change nationally and internationally. I have been fortunate to be personally mentored and befriended by many of them such as Coretta Scott King, Joseph Lowery, Hosea Williams, John Lewis, Maynard Jackson, Andrew Young, Xernona Clayton and many others. From them I have learned the value and power of sacrificial, servant leadership and the capacity of one generation to change the course of history for those who follow. Through my own public service, however, I have learned the urgent need to further the cause of our collective humanity in this generation the way the aforementioned courageous men and women did in their's. We must now step-up... here I am, reporting for duty!!!... For the total of my public life and professional career, I have tried to work for and serve the collective interests of humanity as a private citizen and I am truly humbled by and proud of those successes. Now the time has come for me to serve and advocate justice, fairness, equality, liberty and social CHANGE as a public official.
