Markeyta L. Sconiers, has over the years, developed into a highly spiritual and intellectual person. When Markeyta began singing at the age of 8, she never imagined the musical plateaus God would one day bring her to. She started her music career at True Vine C.O.G.I.C., where her great-grandfather, Supt. George Hagler, is Pastor. From there, she sang with Walt Whitman and the Soul Children of Chicago, which included singing in the White House and for President Bush. In 1994, she moved her membership to Sweet Holy Spirit Church where Bishop Larry D. Trotter is Senior Pastor. This is where Markeyta was first introduced to Praise & Worship and has served in this ministry for over 12 years. She has also been featured on two of her church choir’s CDs. Over the years, Markeyta sang with various community choirs and groups. Her voice can be heard on lead and background vocals on various CD projects. Markeyta is greatly known as one of the premier Worship Leaders in the Chicagoland area. One of her greatest accomplishments was singing background for Donnie McClurkin on Oprah.
At the beginning of 2002, Markeyta lost a loved one who was very dear to her. During this time of grief, God spoke to her about her life and music ministry. He then confirmed her call to the music ministry by bringing to her remembrance Luke 14:18 - “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives…to set at liberty them that are bruised.” God let her know that her call was similar to that of a preacher, the only difference is that she would “preach” or minister through song. Thus bringing her to place she is now. April 30, 2005, Markeyta recorded her 1st Praise & Worship CD entitled, “I Will Sing.” It was released in May, 2006, by Markeyta’s music company, L’O-Key Music. Serving in ministries in Savannah & Decatur, GA, Markeyta has now returned home to Chicago, IL. Markeyta is preparing music for a second CD. 2008 will be a year of Markeyta making her mark in the music industry as a songwriter. She is excited about her future and knows that the worst is over and the best is yet to come.

Well Markeyta, another year has come and gone! How have you been hun? ...and why am I not on your "Top 8?" JK Ha! (MY birthday is this Sunday in case you were wondering) Anyway, today is YOUR birthday so party it up and make this your BEST birthday ever!!
Did you know you can limit your life by dwelling on the wrong things? So often, wrong thinking keeps people stuck right where they are. If you think you'll never accomplish your dreams, then you'll stay stuck where you are. If you think you don't have the talent, the connections, or the funds, then you are limiting yourself. We have to remember that God's promises never return void. His Word stands true forever! Don't limit what God can do in your life by focusing on what you see in the natural realm. You have to realize that you serve a supernatural God and just because you don't see a way doesn't mean that God doesn't have a way. God can bring one opportunity across your path that will thrust you to a whole new level. He has explosive blessings in store that can blast you out of where you are and into a place of abundance. If you'll shift your focus from this limited realm and start looking at God's supernatural realm, you'll see His unlimited possibilities for your future. Take the limits off by setting your thoughts on what Almighty God can do in your life today!
