These days I often perform with
The John Abercrombie Quartet and with John Zorn's Masada String Trio ,
In Duo with Sylvie Courvoisier. I also play with John Zorn's Bar Kokhba, and With Sylvie's Courvoisier's Group "Lonelyville" and
with my Own Quartet playing the Music from my CD "What Exit"
which I recorded in 2004 on ECM Records. At the end of 2008 I begin a new project with Dave Douglas the "Magic Circle" Trio with Scott Colley.
I have recorded some of CD's of my own such as What Exit on ECM Records, Book of Tells (music for string Quartet) on Enja Records, Music for Violin Alone on Tzadik.
With Sylvie Courvoisier I have recorded many works from John Zorn's
Masada. Maplhas and Masada Recital both on Tzadik.
I Have recorded as a sideman on over 150 Creative Music CD's with Artists such as John Zorn, Michael Brecker, John Abercrombie, Lee Konitz,Muhul Richard Abrams ,Joe Lovano, Billy Hart, Chris Potter,
Dave Douglas, Tim Berne , Mark Dresser And Sylvie Courvoisier among others.
The Kronos Quartet commissioned and performed one of my string quartets, and I have appeared as a violin soloist with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the WDR Radio Orchestra of Cologne, Germany, The Het Brabants Orkest of Einhoven Holland , The WDR Jazz Orchestra — playing Concertos written for me to perform.
In 2003 I
Recieved a Grammy Certificate for my performance on Michael Breaker's Verve CD "Wide Angles".
I was the winner of the 2007 Alpert Award in the Arts in Music.
This year I got
a drivers licence.
I listen to talk shows on the Radio but I never call In myself.
Mark, I am stunned that you would take the time to listen to the stuff on my page. I actually do play real "jazz"; however, I put the more "pop" stuff on the page. I have long admired your work with John Abercrombie. Again, thank you for taking the time and your artistry.
