It's easier to play bottleneck slide on cheap guitars becuase the action is usually fucked up.
Harmonica is a good instrument to take up if you're a night watchman or you're too twanged up on the dumb dust to sleep (after you've learned you can just go into rehab ... over and over again).
My momma has a clothes dryer in her house in Chattanooga that sounds just like Sam Carr or Cedric Burnside.
I got a bunch of records. They're all good.
Sounds Like
A guy with a tricone resonator and issues. Serious issues.
The blues is a religon. You can hear it and feel just like you feel in church. Your head will bow, your eyes will close, hair will stand up on your arm. I can play it. I can make you feel it. I can. I was born in the country and raised up in town. I'm natural born able to shake'em on down. People call me Porkchop because I used to be fatter than I am now. I used to play slide guitar and harmonica and sing in a band called the Black Diamond Heavies, but the time came for that to end. I'm just 33 and I don't mind dying. I had the world's best Momma and the world's meanest Dad. I try to be a good boy but sometimes I'm bad. Playing guitar saved my life and now it's trying to kill me, but I just won't die. Hell, I'm not even sick ... I've done things that other people haven't, and gone places some people can't go. I'm sober. I try to not to assume that people have to be smarter or know more than me for me to learn something from them. Sometimes this approach works. I like people, often from a distance, but I'm engaged to this one girl named C. Deborah that I'm in love with. It's pretty cool. Good night, God bless, and as always thank you for shopping at my K-mart.

I did it again ...
I just recorded a new album's worth of material over Christmas. The recording was done at Fry Pharmacy Studio outside of Nashville by the owner and my new friend Scott McKewen, and officiated over in a gentlemanly fashion by Deep Blues Festival founder Chris Johnson.
It's my street act, mic'ed up. Guitar, vocals, foot-thumpery and harmonica tracked in realtime, all at once, no overdubs, no second takes, no bullshit. Two inch tape, like Jesus intended.
I'm happy with it. Sounds like me.
I'm ready to get out and play again. I'm gonna post a little of it up on Myspace. Also, Mr. Johnson videotaped the whole thing and will be posting some of it up on Youtube.
Listen to it. Watch it. Kill some time.
If you like it, let me know.
If you don't ... keep it to yourself.

It was sooo good to see you last week. All your sets were amazing and it was great to see you play slide with John and Van again. I've posted 7 albums of photos from the DBF 09...check 'em out. Use/abuse any you like. If you don't like anything, let me know and I'll pull them. My camera battery died right before CeDell went onstage so I don't have any of the rest of Saturday night performances including you with the Heavies But I must have been stalking you cause there are a boatload of ya on and off the stage.
Hey Mark, It was a pleasure to meet you and even better to hear you. We could listen to you play all day long. It was an honor to share the stage with you at Deep Blues. All the best to you

I love your CD! You really have a nice collection of diverse sounds you've created using a single setup of instruments. You sound bluesy and funky. Good luck to you. By the way, I'm buying a steel tricone National myself, so perhaps I'll try to learn one of your songs. Regards, Seng-ge Dorje
