DAVID MORGAN (Pedal steel guitar, dobro, vocals) - started his professional music career in Boston, touring the northeast area with the country rock band “Wheatstraw”. After moving to the west coast, he continued to make his living playing pedal steel guitar for several popular country bands in the San Diego area. He next performed original music as a member of the trio “Spare Change” on the local folk & coffee house circuit. He plays old style non-pedal steel guitar in “The Hank Show”, which replicates the sound and look of Hank Williams original music. David has worked with the Mark Jackson Band in recordings and performances over the past several years.
GRANT KESTER (Harmonica, vocals) - who grew up on the east coast, is a dynamic harmonica player who performed with a number R&B bands over the years in that region of the country. Now a resident of San Diego, Grant blends his strong blues background together with the acoustic roots country & honky tonk style of the Mark Jackson Band to help mold a sound that is truly unique.
PAUL CRUZ (Acoustic/electric guitar, vocals, mandolin, bass) - a San Diego east county native, co-founded the band “Grand Canyon Sundown”. As a member of the Mark Jackson Band, he blends his own unique style with an extraordinary love for American music. His many musical influences include Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, and Ray Lamontagne.
PAMELA HAAN (Vocals, guitar, percussion, piano) - who grew up in the Midwest in a family of classically trained musicians, developed a strong ear for close, stacked harmonies listening to her father sing in gospel and barbershop quartets. That love of harmony continued into adulthood and grew to include the full, flowing harmonies found in traditional country music and the multi-layered harmonies of the 70s rock bands such as Poco and the Eagles. Today she lends her ear for strong harmony to add richness and depth to the bands original works.
JASON POSTELNEK (Bass, vocals, violin, guitar) who is originally from Miami, Fl, came to San Diego to pursue his musical interests. He co-founded the band “Grand Canyon Sundown”.
DAVE WILKIE (Drums, percussion, vocals) - a San Diego native, grew up listening to his father David’s hot country band “Tall Cotton”. For the last fifteen years he has been involved in a wide variety of projects including the punk band “Model Citizen” and Josai’s reggae House band at the Wild Animal Park. Today he’s come back to his roots bringing a new depth and energy to the band while retaining his family’s heritage through great country artists such as Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and George Jones.

Acoustic Performer MARK JACKSON is a singer/songwriter whose music has traveled from the hills of Oklahoma to the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Influenced by such greats as Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Willie Nelson, he carries on the tradition of the storyteller and poet, creating the straight-talking Western American style of music that has become his signature.
In 2002, Mark formed the MARK JACKSON BAND, that today includes Pamela Haan, Grant Kester, David Morgan, Paul Cruz, Jason Postelnek, and Dave Wilkie.
The MARK JACKSON BAND is a 5 TIME SAN DIEGO MUSIC AWARD NOMINEE, with a BEST AMERICANA ALBUM OF THE YEAR nomination for their well-regarded 2003 debut CD, VIGILANTE ROAD and additional nominations in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 for BEST AMERICANA/COUNTRY BAND. I’ve been a music journalist for more than 10 years. Over the years, many artists and managers have asked me what the best way to break into the European music market is.
Here are some things you can do:
Publish artist press releases, news, and tour dates to the CountryHome Forum on MySpace, http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazine , CountryHome Forum is part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine. Everything you publish to the CountryHome Forum will be published in my weekly Newsletter which has over 80,000 readers.
Send me CDs and DVDs for review and set up an artist interview with me. All reviews and interviews will be submitted to the magazines I'm writing for. More information for which magazines I'm writing can be found at http://www.MySpace.com/ChristianLamitschka
Upload artist videos to http://www.MyVideo.de and http://www.ClipFish.de . Both websites are like http://www.YouTube.com and uploading videos is free. The websites are completely in German. If you don’t speak German and need assistance, I will help you open an account and upload a video for 25 Euro. Each additional video upload for the same artist name and at the same video website is 10 Euro.
If you have more questions about the European music market or about any of the information I send to you today, please contact me at Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de too.
