Sounds Like
Take a Matchless Spitfire, 15 watts class A, add a Fender deluxe, flavour with Fulltone, Durham Electronics and a bunch of other secret herbs & spices, sweeten with a Flatliner and stir vigourously with a Telecaster.
Throw in Gibson SJ200, Guild D35, some resonator and lap steel, a pinch of Les Paul and 335, disfigure with banjo and harp.
Filter through all the influnces..........Enjoy!!!
I'm a guitar player, writer and producer with an interest in country, alt country, roots, ameripolitan, folk and blues based music.
My main gig is with Australian country rock band Tall Timbre. Ted Simpson and I started Tall Timbre in 1999, and since then have grown it from an acoustic duo to a 5 or 6 piece combo. I also gig regularly with Bryen and the Bayou Boogie Boys, and am the house guitarist for the Belrose Country Music Club and the Royal Exchange Hotel, Windsor, jam night.
My most recent recording projects are:
"After the Grind", album, Tall Timbre, 2007.
"Too Cold At Home", album track 3, Bryen Willems, 2006.
Away from Tall Timbre, I appreciate the less commercial side of music, and if I can find time, like working in side projects a little left of centre. For example, check out Gayla's "Gumbo Rodeo"; recorded west of Baton Rouge, the album combines Gayla's traditional Cajun roots with my take on country guitar. Not many people have combined "These Boots Are Made For Walking" with squeeze box and wah pedal.
Miss ya big fella, you must be running the jam nite up there by now, when my time down here is done make sure to put my name down on the board for a play. Love you, miss you mate, Jake
