About me:
i currently play guitar in 4 different bands, Me & my dad go under the original title of M&J Blues, and play a mix of blues/country/rock & roll stuff, i was taught how to play the guitar bny my dad when i was youg, and we always had a few hours playing blues stuff around the house each week, people always said we should get some gigs done, but my dad was never comfortable singing in front of i microphone.
Eventually a few years ago we did an acoustic gig at the Sheffield Philadelphia blues Festival, after getting a great response, me and my dad decided to start getting some gigs around sheffield. the past 3/4 years has seen us gig regularly around sheffield, and we've built up a great fanbase too.
a big thanks goes goes out to the Gardeners Rest for giving us chance to get started out, we now play regularly each month.
I have been playing with a band called Slim and the big Man blues Band for ten years now, a big six piece swing / blues band.
we are slowly winding down after giiging all around sheffield, and the blues pub circuit, we've played Colne Blues Festival 3 times, which was a great buzz for us all.
Myself, the singer & sax player from Slim have a side project called The River Rats which has monthly gigs at the Hillsborough Hotel, and the Bath Hotel, the music is all acoustic blues/jazz, and is quite a departure from Slim.
Since Slim and the Big man are going to be no more next year, I have joined a band called Eyeball (see my friends), we play a lot of original material, plus a load of old blues / rock 'n' roll covers.
we've been playing together for a year now and have built up quiet a decent fan base around the sheffield pub circuit.
