  • Bio

....MARK MCCRITE.. is not only a solo artist, but also founding member of the LA based progressive rockband Rocket Scientists, where he plays guitar and is lead vocalist. Mark also collaborates frequently with symphonic rock artist Lana Lane, as both a songwriter and live performer. .. ....Let's talk about gear..... ....Acoustic Guitars:.. Martin D-35, Guild JF30-12 Jumbo 12 String, 1950's Silvertone, Line 6 Variax Acoustic 700 ....Electric Guitars:.. Line 6 Variax 600, Gibson SG '61 reissue, Chandler RH-2 Lap Steel, Jerry Jones Single Cutaway, Fender Stratocaster, Gibson Les Paul ....Amplification:.. Vox AC-30.. ..Signal Processing:.. Line 6 PODxt Live, Fulltone Full Drive, Ibanez Tube Screamer, Univox Micro Fazer, Line 6 DL4 and MM4 .....and don't forget the ..EBOW!.. .... My entire live rig is comprised of the Line 6 Variax 600 connected digitally to a PODxt Live floor processor and plugged straight into the mixing desk. Some may think this approach is a compromise, but I can't imagine playing live any other way. I can change between tight ryhthm sounds to effected leads and even acoustics with the press of a single footswitch. I can even use 12 string sounds or open tunings whenever I want. Yes, I am affiliated with Line 6, but I really am a true believer... .... ....Created with ..mySpace Profile Editor....

  • Influences

I'm inspired by the musicality & psychedelic bent of the Beatles & Crowded House, the creative genius and limitless talent of Jon Brion & the late Kevin Gilbert, the edge of Bowie and Beck, the grandeur of Close to the Edge era Yes, the wreckless energy of the Who, the inescapable momentum of King Crimson, the haunting atmosphere of Pink Floyd & Radiohead, the perfection and sophistication of the Alan Parsons Project & kd Lang, and the enlightened take on life and the world one finds in Europe.
  • Sounds Like

I'd like to think I sound a bit like Crowded House, Kevin Gilbert, Jason Falkner, Jim Boggia, Tracy Bonham, the Moody Blues and others, but the best way to describe it is to listen to the song samples on this page and buy my music from my various projects at https://secure.assurebuy.com/98058/98058.htm.
