Having grown up in a very musical household, it’s no surprise that Marko has become enthralled in the sonic arts. Armed with a degree in Music Technology, Marko began as a recording engineer at a major US recording studio before relocating to NYC in the 90’s in search of his own musical voice. The legendary underground circuit as well as the superclubs of the time – Twilo, Sound Factory, The Tunnel, Limelight – had a major influence as Marko began to truly see the power of electronic music. Moving into DJ-ing seemed a natural progression as he took to the decks with a command.
Relocating to Kobe, Japan in 2001, and eventually on to Seoul, South Korea in 2003, as well as time in Bangkok and Kyoto, it was in these cities that Marko really began to find his sound and soul as a DJ and continues to explore the boundaries of Deep/Tech/Funky House to this day.
Marko's style is just as at home in the big rooms as it is in the deepest of underground venues, having inhabited some of the same booths as heavies such as James Zabiela, Timo Maas, Steve Porter, Spirit Catcher, the legendary Rabbit in the Moon, Junkie XL, Derrick Carter, Plump DJs, Dubfire, Nick Warren, and Ricky Stone among others as well as joining talented local crews in Seoul for many a bangin' party. With his infectious positivity and technical proficiency behind the decks, Marko Nation’s DJ sets definitely leave an impression to be experienced.
