Mark Prey and the Hunters has quickly re-established its musical identity with the release of "Taking the Low Road". Mark Prey's musical journey began in 1973 in Madison, Wisconsin with the formation of a furiously acoustic band Greenwood. After a several years of performing professionly Mark decided to work in high technology which has culminated in a career working in Oregon's silicon forest. Lyrics for tracks on "Taking the Low Road" were often conceived in cubicles by high technology friends and co-workers Todd Moyer and Mike Gemelke. Mark Prey and Bruce Rodgers were friends and musical collaborators many years earlier, during the mid eighties recorded several songs that recieved local airplay on WORT in Madison Wisconsin. Bruce Rodgers is a Professional Graphic Designer and Illustrator moving to Oregon in 1986, and Mark followed in 1988. In 2005 after many parties and "Jams" the pair decided to meet weekly. This was the catalyst to the genesis of "Taking the Low Road". Paul Anthony "Rad" adds piano and organ on the album and has performed with Mark and Bruce as well as composing and teaching music in the Portland area for many years.
