Mark "Rojas" Riojas's Comedian Bio
|
| Bio | Mark Riojas was born and raised in one of the less fortunate areas of San Antonio Texas. Born the only child he soon craved attention. Mark had many talents and many interests but nothing prepared him for what he says now is a love, passion and desire for sketch and stand-up comedy. It began as a favor for a friend. Mark Riojas was a talented "Pop & Lock" break dancer in the mid to late 90's. As a renowned member of the dance group Electric Vibrations he soon was performing and competing at various quinceanera, highschool dances and talent shows in and around San Antonio. You may recall his most famous battle against Jennifer Rodriquez's cousin Chuy at her quince in Eagle Pass, TX. It was for this reason Larry Garza approached him to help out with one of Comedia-a-gogo's earliest and best skits "Copin wit yo Disabilites". This was the start of a passion for a buisness Mark never expected to be a part of. It was almost two years when Mark had to reluctantly walk away from what he thought was going to be a great career as a professional wrestler, due to a torn disc and inverted tailbone recieved from a piledriver from hell or better known as "The Execution Chair" thanks to Judge Doom. "I remember when the doctor told me I would not be able to wrestle again. I was lost and confused; this caused me to question myself, my life and most importantly my faith." It has been said that the lord works in mysterious ways for Marks desire was for entertainment, he just never expect to be a comedian. After his first show with Comedia-a-gogo Mark slowly snaked his way in the group by just showing up to meetings and making himself part of skits with out the groups official approval. Realizing Mark's special talents which consist of fighting, kicking ass and brawling Comedia-a-gogo soon realized that Mark would be a wonderful asset to their group. After two and a half years as a member of Comedia-a-gogo Mark was in a car accident. Instead of letting this beat him he chose to make light of the situation by turning this situation into his first stand-up bit. When he was meet with great approval from the audience he soon realized that he just might actually be funny. Now almost three years later Mark has become a regular at San Antonio's Rivercenter Comedy Club and has been blessed to perform in Texas as well as other states. While performing all over New York City, Mark was able to work with great talents such as Marc Theobald from the Chapelle Show and Tracy Morgan from SNL.
