Mark Shannon is a Toronto based musician. composer and producer. In the past several years Mark has produced CDs for local artists such as Mandy Lagan, Bill Wood, Richard Smyth, Celebration of Praise, Charlie Roby and more. Mark studied at York University with a focus on Jazz Performance, electronic music and music for film. Since then he has composed music for several feature films and documentaries, such as Return to Kandahar, The Spreading Ground, and Provocateur as well as many smaller industrial films and jingles. He is a regular music contributor to The Real News, a web-based independent news organization dedicated to delivering the news without corporate interests.
As a bass player, Mark has recorded with such artists as Kevin Barrett, David Deacon, Ron Korb, Andy Stochansky and Simon Wynberg, among others.
