About Mark Sollars

Mark - Drummer, reigning from Syracuse, NY. Marks’ drumming experience has been extremely varied and spans 36 years. He has had the privilege of working with many talented musicians throughout his career such as Luke Walrath (a broadway performer and appeared on David Letterman) and Betsi Morrison (a broadway performer a soap opera actress and has released a music CD) just to name a few. He played drums for a play that starred Luke and Besti direct from Broadway entitled "Eastern Mountain Time. Mark has toured and worked in several recording studios including a recent project for a local television commercial. Mark recently released his own drumming instructional CD entitled “Beats Made Easy”. Since arriving in Missoula, MT., Mark has become an adjudicator for Missoula School District Solo Days, an instructor for a summer band camp, a private drum instructor and currently plays with Cabin Fever. Mark thoroughly enjoys working with the next generation of musicians as well as continuing to expand his profession.

I have been needlessly worrying about jamming because I thought I needed to have everything down perfect! Nope, we just sat down and played a little of this and a little of that. I had no problem finding a beat, even more complicated ones! If, however, you are referring to my first lesson with Johnny Rabb, then I have nothing left to say but - wow! He is a gifted, gifted musician, and I am looking forward to learning a lot from him! Thanks so much for checking in, it was nice to hear from you. I see that I made your top 33 on your homepage! That's almost as awesome as my first jam session experience and lesson with Johnny. Well, maybe the former but not the latter ;) Be well my friend and groove on!

Well, I'm sorta kinda corresponding with a great guitar guy in Brazil who is interested in possibly doing a project. So should that ever progress beyond the "hey that sounds like a pretty cool idea" phase, I'll be sure to let you in on it! Hope everything is rockin' in Montana. Deb and I just got back from watching the Huskers beat Western Michigan in their season opener. Not a bad effort, but they'll have to get a lot better if they're going to be competitive in conference play. So how are the Griz this year? We miss you guys. Hopefully we'll have a house to invite you to by the end of next month. Stay in touch. John
