TelevisionHas a power that frankly terrifies me- as I get sucked in FAR too easily.. Excepting Fred Dibnah's 'Wole' oeuvre and David Attenborough, of course, and the Fast Show. Sorry, I'm being a snob.. I'm just as likely to mong out on the sofa now and again as YOU are.. Current faves include The Mighty Boosh, the World At War and that really cosy programme about narrowboats.. as opposed to the other really cosy programme about narrowboats with the Really Scary Bloke in it..

There are many out there whose works and attitudes have profoundly swayed and helped to shape me one way or t'other and I love them all deeply. .. When not obsessing over curious machines I make joyful noises to a reasonable standard with assorted wave-generating devices. I have played in various bands and will play in many more. Guitar remains my first instrument but I've a long-standing love of keyboards, especially the Streetly Mellotron (aah...), the Hammond tonewheel organ and all things electromechanical or analogue.. I was born the same year as the Mellotron 400 and the MiniMoog. Does that make me a classic? I particularly enjoy making exaggeratedly filthy noises with analogue synthesisers. Oh, and making music with them, of course. As a consequence I seem to have difficulty hearing anything above 12.5 kHz. Should you wish to be rude to me, do so via a friendly pipistrelle and I'll be none the wiser. I have various musical projects on the go, from electronic otherness to Miles/Mahavishnu semi-improvisatory tomfoolery. Ask me nicely and I might contribute something to YOUR music. Probably Mellotrons.. (guitar if you're lucky) xxxx

Who I'd like to meet:
The Interesting and the Interested.. Open-minded musicians and lovers of electromechanical exotica.. Anybody who might require my musical services for gigs, tours or recordings.. and on the technical side... Bring me your B3s and SH-101s! I'm an experienced and practising vintage gear technician and can offer assistance, repairs, rebuilds and servicing for the following: Most types of vintage electric keyboard instrument, older amplifiers, analogue effects, mixers.. Specialities include Hammond, Vox, Bird, Farfisa, Philicorda and other cool organs, Hohner Clavinets/Pianets, Wurlitzer/Rhodes pianos, most analogue and hybrid synths, Claviolines, Univoxes, tape echoes, valve amps, Leslie speakers.. custom devices, Mellotrons! If I can't sort it I won't charge you. If it misbehaves I'll keep at it. I may spend far too long trying doggedly to fix the truly knackered or the 'never actually reliable when it was new' but that's my problem and cost not yours, unless you're in a rush. I'm getting there. Just get in touch to discuss your requirements.. Reasonable rates, obsessive aftercare, enthusiastic, informative waffling and plentiful tea. Name-dropping and numbers by request..

DC FONTANA release their debut single December 1st!

A double A-sided single, "THE CONTESSA" / "SNAKE CHARMER" will be available from ALL download sites or as a beautiful 7" limited collectors' edition record available from www.dcfontana.com

Taken from the eagerly-anticipated debut album "Six Against Eight" the sizzling single is out on the dctone label as a pre-Christmas cracker.

THE CONTESSA is a hip-shakin' instrumental screamer that is already detonating dancefloors across Europe with its Hammond & horns attack that leaves you breathless with its amphetamine-like attack.....

SNAKE CHARMER's foxy vocal from Karla Milton complete with risque lyrics and a fizzin' psychedelecised groove hammers home the message that DC Fontana are serious contenders.

Produced by long-time Julian Cope guitarist & producer Donald Ross Skinner, mixed by his younger brother & ex-Primal Scream drummer Gavin Skinner and recorded at Echo & The Bunnymen's studios in Liverpool, England, this double dose of sonic medicine is the perfect tonic from the usual stale festive fare on offer.

The digital format should be available on all the usual sites including I-Tunes, Amazon, Napster, Play.com, HMV, Tesco etc....  And the physical vinyl comes on deluxe HEAVYWEIGHT vinyl to weigh in with a punch.....

The album will follow sometime early in 2010 (dates to be announced) either as downloads or a pristine CD complete with a deluxe booklet. "Six Against Eight" features 14 o

Hi Mark Wallis, thanks for continuing to be a friend of Electroflex.

Some important news!

Electroflex have been back in the studio following a break from gigging and recording with new track ‘Computer Virus’.

This is the first of a series of new releases for 2009, and what better day to start on than Liz’s Birthday!

‘Computer Virus’ is a live favourite.  Anyone forced to work with computers will know how evil they are and this track is Electroflex’s response to Kraftwerk’s ‘Its More Fun to Compute’.  It is a bouncy number with a serious bassline, sing-along chorus and a selection of curious samples.

The track will only be up on Myspace in full for a short time.  Alternatively, visit our
Facebook
and iLike pages where you can add the song to you playlists

All the best

Jacob and Liz.
